kenwoods you can wire to a fuse to give it that lil signal it needs. some pioneers need to get bypassed on the head unit itself (like the avic series), but all alpines i've seen need a module, or some more complicated way where you gotta park it, flip a switch, push a brake, flip the switch again, or somethin stupid along those lines. the module is your best bet

The yellow and blue and the pink and black are for the video.
The white and brown are for remote turn on of other componets.
You can bypass it with a PAC TR-7 module.
so the black isnt a ground?

you can bypass it by runnin it to the ground wires on the harness. be warned tho. watchin anything on the tv is illegal without passengers. and even then i think it is on a indash
im not worried about watching the movies i just want to be able to play my cds the dvd player/cd player is separate from the deck
thats the only thing im worried about. -
parking break wire is to ensure that you wont watch videos while driving
i THINK the the brown white wire is a reverse trigger to switch on a backup cam when the car is put into reverse
do you know how i would bypass the parking brake? i was looking at the wire and it says rem out.

i have the alpine cva- 1004 dvd player im trying ti hook it up but i noticed that there are a couple wires where the rcas are one says parking brake and the other is white with a brown line does any body know where im suppose to took those to?

Yae it can be done, no it's not easy. it's going to take a little fabbing to make new brackets for the AC controls. IIRC, the size is close but the ac controls are a little smaller then the radio slot so it might take some tricks to fill the gaps. Then you will have to look at the wiring, It might be a little tight to move the wires. There may or may not be enough slack to move them. Then you have to fab up a bracket to support the deck.
:mad: that sucks! do you know of anybody that can do that? before summer lol everybody keeps saying they can do it in the summer

most know that i have a 99 crown vic. i am trying to put a fold out dvd deck in it but i have a problem the dash comes out over the deck about 6 inches and when my screen folds out it hits that lip and cant fold up all the way. i have seen on other forums where people move the ac unit up to where the deck is and puts the dvd player where the ac unit is. i asked a few people how they did it but they will not tell me. is there anybody on here that knows? or is there anybody in the sac area that can do it if so how much?

another question i know how to install a regular deck is it the same on this? it has the red,yellow,black,remote, and the 4 speakers then the dvd player has a neg and pos. and the rca to connect to the deck. can i run the power and the ground together on the deck and dvd player?

alpine sells one thats called the black box and theres one called tr-7

ok never mind i found my dvd player was under a box. does any know how to bypass it the brake thing so i can watch dvds while driving?

you use any dvd players but if you want to use the 1004 to control the dvd player look for either 5200 5205 5207 or the 5210 i dont remember what the first 3 letters are in the model number but i want to say its dva

ok my car was broken into and some stuff was stolen so i had to replace some stuff i had my old deck in my garage. its a alpine cva1004 but im not sure if i lost some stuff that went to it. does any body know ? i have the deck and the wires but i cant remember if it needs an external dvd changer or if the dvd player is built on?

i got a vise, and a lil brother who can help too, lol
i had to have the neighbor help. by time i heated the connector picked up the gun and started to heat the solder it was cold wasted 4 before i called him out

i would run a pos and a neg from front batt to the back then also another ground to the frame
i would also run 2 pos front to back
