  1. when you get to certain amounts of power...you can cut down on rattle...but not FULLY eliminate it. unless you drive an SPL car...which is another story. i dno about the resin thing...but if you get like...expanding foam or triple expanding foam you can spray it in places to help stop the rattling. like up in the bumper cover, or in the trunk lid itself. but being in a trunk...your lid will probably always rattle against the car itself. but maybe that will help

yea ill try the foam stuff. is tuff stuff good to use ? or what should i use?

  2. all that vibrating sounds el-bad-o

i think that the bumper isnt ur biggest problem, fix that one that we heard even before u were by the car

the only thing rattling is the bumper cover well and the trunk lid but thats imposable to stop. i listened for hours trying to find it and then when i took it off the rattle was almost completely gone. when i put it back on it was back

  3. my amp was cutting out so i decided to go through the wiring i noticed that the remote wire had a cut in it and was touching metal in my car so i replaced. i also added a 12volt fan to it. it and drove around for a while and it docent cut out.

now my next question before i had my subs firing up and port back i got rid of most of the rattle with a cascade kit (dynamat) now with subs and port back it is making my back bumper rattle very bad. someone told me to pour resin in the bumper cover is that a good idea? or can i take it off and put dynamat in the bumper cover and stop it?

    here is a video

  4. i think i fixed the problem i was looking and found that the plastic on my remote wire was tore and touching the metal in my trunk. i fixed and put a 12volt fan blowing on my amp and it hasn't cut out at all.

here is a short vid of my new deck pioneer deh-6000ub let me know hoew it sounds my speakers on my computer took a crap on me

i need to put more dynamat for some reason with the subs and port firing back it rattles more than when the subs were firing up and port back. i guess the tuning is a big factor to the old box was 34 hertz the new one is somewhere around 22 to 25 hertz

  5. i had an audiobahn amp that overheated like a whore. sometimes the regular temp in the car would prevent it from turning on cuz it'd be so hot

my amp will shut off then i turn off the hu for 10 seconds and turn it back on and it will play again.

  6. A couple of things.

1 it's a Abahn amp, depending on how you have it wired, you could fry an egg on them.

2 your amp is in the trunk with no air movement. thats going to raise the temps.

3 Electrical, if it's not strong enough the amp will starve for power and run hotter then it would if everything is ok.

the subs are dual 4 ohm bridged - to - + to + and then bridged at the amp. so thats what 1 ohm or 2 ohm ? i have 1/0 wire ran to the back then at a splitter 4g to both amps.i did the big 3. could it be possable my amp is going out?

  7. I don't think you have enough room for your setup but I mounted my friends amp right in front of the port so when the subs hit it pushed air from the port over the amplifier.

that was another thing i was thinking. the box was going in a 2000 explorer but the seller decided to keep it after i started the box. it barley fits in my trunk

  8. yeah in the summer months i see my amp gets up to 114 degrees easily ... that fan should help but its still going to get hot just because a car is a moving heat magnet.... your car can get up to sometihng like 160 degrees.... which is crazy.

its weird all winter it never got hot, now when it gets 85 it got hella hot. i couldnt even touch it.

  9. ok my trunk is pretty sealed and my amp is under the back deck there is some air getting to is but i noticed that now that the weather is getting warm my amp is also. i went and bought a pretty big 12v fan from radio shack to wire with my amp will that help keep it cool? the reason i ask is when i play songs that hit real hard it will get warm and shut off.

you can kind of see where it is in the picture

  10. the sub area is a little over 3 cubes even with the port. the box is huge

edit: ok i think im wrong where the first part of the port starts the magnet is like 5 or so inches from there.... oh well it hits hella hard. if i blow them ill throw the box away and get another one it was only 2 sheets

  11. what happened to the center divider?? :)

what you did was drop the tuning frequency WAY down....

    BUT-

if you did the math and came up with 27" long port, and all of a sudden its 40" deep you've cut into the volume for the actual woofer now the boxes are smaller than 3cuft per chamber!!

    -Drew

EDIT: i see the center- it was just hiding in the first pic

the center divider stops half way out.

i had a guy help me that knows a little about building boxes. he said the port was 2in and 40in long. it hits insanely hard i was just wondering if it will hurt my subs. he said wouldnt the only thing it changes it instead of the 35 hertz its now like 30 hertz
