AlpineGuy87 replied to AlpineGuy87's topic in Tunez - All things music related
eh, good list so far! I was checkin out some these songs on youtube, some them go way back, but thats the key of it, always gonna be that type song to race or speed to. Usually when i race, I'm listening to the car, but i like to speed around town here and there its fun. gotta have some good tunez -
I wanna get together a Mix of some good songs for racing with. There are some songs that just get you driving when you listen to em! If you got some song ideas, put em up, I'm lookin for good racing songs.

Looking For New Computer
AlpineGuy87 replied to finkster's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
Yes you can run more than one OS on a machine, you just boot into the other one when you want to. If you want a fast running machine i would say get a desktop over a laptop, because one, for the power, desktop would prolly be cheaper and for the money, a desktop will be more stable than a laptop. As for brands, I'm not sure what you should go with, I mean a lot of gaming PCs are durable for just regular usage. I only own Apple Computers and I have been out of windows for 3 years now so I couldnt recommend a PC. But I am familiar with Alienware and I would say they are good PCs but they do have a hefty $$ load. I forget the other type but there is nice Gaming PCs for round 1000. I am saying Gaming PCs because they are going to have the fast running speed you want. they will have some of ther higher end components that are meant for speed. -
(12) 18" (insert Brand Here) Design
AlpineGuy87 replied to quakecitystudio's topic in SPL - SOUND PRESSURE LEVEL
for 12 subs (18"s) i dont think you would be able to get enough air space inside that box, I would do the front six, maybe 8, then have good size box with properly tuned port. I guess it would all depend on the subs and the tuning on how big the box should be, but i would assume there may not be enough air space for 12 - 18" subs.. Also, only porting half would mean half your subs would be hitting different frequencies than the other half? and also, the sound waves from each half make interefere with the other half..? Doing simple logic here... -
Components With Clear Highs And Thumping Lows!?
AlpineGuy87 replied to AlpineGuy87's topic in Mid's and highs
Well you are all right, I know i want more than what im going to be able to find. but guess what, if there was one place to ask, i've come to the right place. I will not be running an amp, which i know means less bass for most comp systems. My headunit is decent and my stock speakers have some good bass, i just rather have the thump thump than the pop pop when im hitting some bassy lines. I think my tweaters are fine if i can atleast just get a good midbass speaker i'll be set! $100 a pair wont kill me, thats basically my price i want to stick around. I would need 4 speakers, so $250 or less for 2-pair. I think the Infinities are decent, i've heard em before, but im still looking for tad more bass than what they offer. -
Components With Clear Highs And Thumping Lows!?
AlpineGuy87 replied to AlpineGuy87's topic in Mid's and highs
Yea I've heard about focal when i first got into car audio years ago, they were popular among my friends. But i dont know about their bass? I thought they were more mid to high range? I want to try and get something that is good with low to mid to high I heard of Cadence subs, buddy mine had 4 12"s in an S10 walled up and was pretty crazy but i've never heard of their speakers before. If they aint cheap tho, i cant do it cuz im cheap! lol -
Components With Clear Highs And Thumping Lows!?
AlpineGuy87 replied to AlpineGuy87's topic in Mid's and highs
Yea I think i've heard of them, but i havnt really heard much of them being some amazing speakers yet..? Cheap is good as long as its giving some quality sound. How does the bass sound? What model infinitys you got? Well lower price is better lol, I'm not trying to spend crazy money but yea I want to at least get some good thumping bass and clear highs out of some speakers -
Components With Clear Highs And Thumping Lows!?
AlpineGuy87 replied to AlpineGuy87's topic in Mid's and highs
Thats the thing, I'm trying to get good bass out of the speakers without wiring up an amp or system... Thats kinda what I'm going around.. I know its difficult to get good rich bass deep bass without an amp but thats what I'm trying to do. I'm just trying to swap out the speakers i have right now with some better speakers. As far as i know I got 2 tweaters, 2 front door speakers and two rear speakers.. BTW, what are Coaxials (for my lack of knowledge) -
I got me a 2006 scion tc. I want to swap out those factory speakers. I want some recommendations from my knowledgeful SMD friends here. This is what im looking for: - Highs that can go loud and stay clear - Mids that will sound good on all music genres - Mids with "sub-like" Bass!! ** I'm not putting a system in my car for a while... so for now, I want some components that will put out a good amount of bass without powering them off an Amp. Thanks fellas, the inputs are appreciated!

So, here is my ride.. and I want to do something bout the wheels, I love the stock wheels they are clean and go well with the car, but you gotta go custom.. so i want to get some nice set of wheels.. I'm not sure if I want some all black or black with chrome lip or all alloy, or chrome, i really am not too sure. I want it to shine and get attention and look good, just as they should! But I dont want anything "BLING" or anything.. thats why I really dont want chrome unless it went well. So any suggestions would be slammin'!! My price range is ANYTHING UNDER $1000.00 Right now these wheels are 17"s and I would like to go with 18"s, 20"s being the max but I'd rather go with 18"

Remind you of my ride... or those who have not seen it.. This is all stock, no added performance or nothing, so this is what you get out of the factory, eventually I will add intake, headers, exhaust for some performace and sound. Here is my vid, (Its' manual so if you turn up volume you can hear me peel in 2nd gear http://s170.photobucket.com:80/albums/u275...=0503080637.flv BTW, the Sound is slightly off cuz I used my cell phone and its not greatest quality, plus it was at like 630 in the morning.. lol Enjoy

sorry, I'll take more for you next time. and more for you too! Pics are good, system bad... The tread... 2 year old tires, I prolly getting some this summer before winter.. System will come in due time.. I'm sure Bibby has seen the thread too lol.. I love the camera!! ...and apparently the car does too indeed. If you got some junk layin around i'm all for it if not i dont got the green right now.. lol
-
Thanks man, im still puttin' the green back in the account right now, lol.. so right now its just minor upgrades, nothing too pricey right now, As for trunk, it is very possible there may be something in there one day, not sure yet though. we'll see. Yea, I was glad I got black though! lol, I love it!

Yea I have 15%, It looks great from the outside and the interior is dark so it makes it seem even darker. At night, at times it seems bit too dark if the area around you isnt well lit up, but if you know where you are your ok lol. In other words, I wouldnt go darker than 15% especially if the interior is dark cuz it will appear even darker anyway.
