well it all depends on ur rice range..chevy boy is right. they over rate their products.and chances are u over powered them and thats where ur problem is. if u want u can prolly wire them 2 4ohms but that will be quieter. or u can buy new subs and start with something better. i have 2 alpine type r's and for the price i paid for them they pound....if u are gonna buy new ubs how much money u have to spend?

get some seafoam and use that

Yea, try wiring ur subs to 4ohms or 2ohms....whatever ohm the subs are. then see if they blow.

i dont wanna have to buy terminal cups if i dont have 2 lol.and the carpet...i need the carpet...this box is gonna take up all my trunk space.so why not make it look nice ya know?

Yea, that enclosure would work.that wil fit 2 12's right? I know i need 3/4 MDF board but what else do i need? like for sealant so the air cant escape?.and whatever else i might need.never built a box so, i dont know what id need.

yea...a bow plan of the port on the left or right is fine...if u can get me one of in the middle that would be nice 2....but as long as the box sounds better than what i have lol....srry bout the feet thing i didnt know i would be easier....i cantgo taller than that cuz my amp sits on top of the enclosure....

Ok, first things first. i have 2 12" alpine type R's and the enclosure i have them in is too small...so i figure its time to build a new enclosure. the one i have now is sealed. and i dont know if i should build a ported or sealed enclosure. i have never built my own box b4 so if someone could help me with that decision and maybe someone design one or help with demensions for one then i could build it? help will be appretiated thanks. it has to be able to fit between the wheel wells of my car tho lol. I have 3 ft between the wheel wells. from front to back it has to fit in a space of 2 ft 10 inches. and the height of the enclosure can only be about 1 ft 2 inches. can someone help me out? thanks. heres a pic of the demensions

What are u aiming for?...performance?..gas efficientcy?...cuz gas prices are rediculous now days....cuz if u want performace get a 240 like u said or a toyota supra ( they are in the 3-4 grand area...and thats they have decent performance)...if u want gas efficientcy...go with something with a little smaller engine....like my car fro instance lol ( Saturn sl gets 36mpg )...depeds what ur looking for really...i just wanted something gas efficiente.u dont want something to great fo ur first car...just a hint.

Yea, i know how that feels....after u see someone die u realize how stupid things are and how easily u can die.... i watched a mustang come down a hill while i was at my friends house he flew down the hill sideways the whole way down and at the bottom he over counter steered and the car went off the road and into the feild. it started to roll and the driver was ejcted from the car....that shook me up and made me realize to drive safe. the driver died on impact and the passenger survived. the driver was 23 years old and was driving drunk.

Sounds like a good idea...and im not gonna wreck it lol...or even stall it...ive been driving a year a a half with my permit...i know how to drive pretty damn good...i use to drive around the farms here when i was little...so its no big deal to me.

Ive also got 2 12" alpine type R's...i like em...my amp doesnt have enough power to push em to what they need tho....they are only on half power but they still flex my windsheild...there pretty good subs...just make sure u have a amp to push them pretty good with and the right enclosure ( my enclosure is a lil small ). hope this helps ya

lol i hear that....its already happened to my car and ive only had my alpines for 2 weeks...and now when the bass hits my tailights are on or off...the vibration jiggles the bulb and it goes out...then comes on..then goes out..lol

1996 saturn SL1, and i just wanted a price range....just something thats cheap but good quality and doesnt make the wheels rub...cuz im gonna get 17" wheels soon.
