For number 2 Besides the sub level 0 is zero volts to the preamps so it has to be up when he’s doing the dd1 unless he’s talking about the bass boost level on the deck which I think he isn’t ..

Set the subwoofer level at max  or minimum half way and leave it there you don’t mess with that after and must be set before you test deck also ..if it’s a bass knob throw it away if it’s a gain knob all the way up when you set it

Nephew had a sa 15 in a ported box it was alright didn’t wow me or anything maybe it needed more power he was only running the rms... I built the box to specs so I don’t know... I personally wouldn’t buy them

Dd-1 is to match preamp voltage from deck at 1% thd to the amp... ohm load is irrelevant... use the 0db track for your mids and highs amp and you should be fine with the extra watts for headroom the amp doesn’t produce that on music all the time anyways

And the amp could of been still clipping at that voltage you set at that 1200 watts... and one sub going is not unheard of due to clipping with the other subs being fine.  if that amp is only capable doing say  800 rms of clean power and you set it to 1200 rms then you clip the amp to hell and back ... box could of been an issue also... burnt coil is rarely due to manufacture defect and to user error

If you do the measuring one and then strapping you need to do both amps to see what one distorts first and put that one as master

That amp is junk like I said before it’s not doing 2000rms..if you don’t believe me send it to bid d wiz ... . if you did the math the way you did for 2k no you didn’t do it right and no 49 wouldn’t of been ok and even with good amps it would of been better to go lower the higher so shouldn’t of went higher then the 48.9.. regardless... 

 

 

on a on a different note it’s looks like it’s only a 2 ohm stable amp you can still pick them up new at for $230

[SMD DD1 problem]

Which dd1 you have?     If you are measuring the deck through the amp I don’t think you will get a signal until the. Dd1 sees enough Volts and if the amps all the way down it might not have enough Volts from the deck unplug the rcas and plug it in the dd1 and set it that way first then amp

the factory unit  doesn't even show lines?... if it has no volume indications at all not sure how you would be able to tell after you set it

Yeah it’s possible I had the same issue with my brothers deck since they were factory speakers we just Set the rcas at max and didn’t worry about the factory stuff
