  1. was looking through some of my old hotrod mags. $187 for an 1150 cfm carb, I need a time machine.

    10383011_316971261817911_841524538514260

My cadillac, fully loaded in 1794 was 10 grand. moon roof, half vinyl roof, leather, power everything, 472/500. jesus. can i borrow your time machine after your done with it?

possibly, depends on whether or not I decide to come back.

Take it back to the 80's and invest $10,000 each in the Microsoft and apple ipo's and you won't care what a carb or car cost now.

  2. I have no problems with rap most of it is just not my cup of tea people are entitled to listen to whatever they want. I do listen to some rap but most of the newer guys their stuff is just (in my opinion) garbage there are however many that I enjoy and even the ones that have songs I dint like have others I do and that doesn't just go for rap there are songs in all genre's that I dislike and country I don't listen to at all. The problem I have with the murder rape and drug dealing things is that lots of kids look up to these guys and they aren't really setting a good example are they wether that's how they really live or not which in most cases it is not but their words are very powerful and many young kids believe them as truth. And before anyone says kids shouldn't be listening to it anyways I agree but that's not how it goes.

Edit- I shouldn't say most of the newer Guys suck because that's not the case but a lot do.

  3. If the music makes you happy it's irrelevant who wrote it, all artist have sung songs written by someone else. nothing makes me happy about slanging coke sleeping with other people's women or robbing people so I can't really applaud jeezy for anything Wether he lives it for real or not. I don't go around bragging about what I have or haven't done it's kinda dumb to brag about criminal activity or tell someone you banged their girl or brag about how tough you are all are dumb ideas. A real man/ tough guy needs to say nothing because anyone that knows you already knows what's up plain and simple.

  4. Here's a thought: If every time some dipshit came in and posted a vs. thread, everyone would NOT RESPOND TO IT and instead report it, that would take away a lot of the incentive to do it, cause they aren't getting what they want. Some people are going to pull anything they can get away with, and I noticed that by the time a mod locks down a thread, half the time the person has already managed to solicit a half dozen or so opinions. Not directed at the mods, just irks my nerves cause again, it's people not paying attention to the rules.

I wouldn't worry about being called a rentamod. People tend to get butthurt when they get called out and can't think of anything legitimate to respond with.

On a related note, I wonder if the forum has the ability to suspend all threads/posts with certain words in it, like vs. That would surely shut down a lot of the nonsense.

Sounds good and all but when the post get reported and locked then you get a bunch post asking why their post was deleted because they are clearly to dumb or to lazy to figure out why on their own.

  5. lets see it go in reverse, work in the rain, turn a corner, maintain a topspeed for more than a minute

    road legal or gtfo

Don't get me wrong, Top Fuel is the complete opposite of practical, or even useful other than 1/4mi straight lines...it's just the insane physics that make it more impressive to me.

And if we're stacking supercars up against each other...the Hennessy Venom GT

    Hennessey+Venom+GT2+engine.jpg

Except for hennessy is a piece of shit con artist and if you ordered one of those you might not get it but your money will be gone for sure.

  6. im just saying a 120 mph accident is not as deadly as they make it seem.. still deadly but not as bad as they claim.. let me know when they start making buildings with 20 feet thick concrete walls then i will say it is.. till then your chances of surviving with a race car with roll cage and every safety feature is still possible

I agree chances of running straight into to something that fast aren't very high and I've seen guys walk away from crashes that fast at the drag strip uninjured. But if you did run straight into a brick wall your survival chances are going way down.

  7. Id like to see that test with a variety of vehicles. The damage is amazing.

yea, I'd like to see a race car with a full cage too.
At that point the cage is irrelevant even if the car remained perfect at a crash force of 400g's youre not going to live.

400g is a lot.. it takes about 10's to make someone pass out, it has to be constant though. less then a second anyone can take it(10's) who knows how much can someone take 400 and for how long ..

i also dont think a car under its own power going 120 mph will create 400g's of force.. the crane did all the pulling and with lots of torque. once the car crashes the force stops. the crane doesnt creating more force as it keep moving forward.. they need to make tests with cars own power..

It's the slamming into the wall the creates the 400g's it's irrelevant if it's pulled by a wire or driven under its own power We are talking about deceleration not acceleration.

yea I was watching a couple of documentaries on formula 1 and a lot of driver safety is actually track prep, not so much the car. Even though the cockpit config is important. Things like the HANS device help but ultimately its the barriers that are the most important and angle of attack...

Good thing is on the street most things we crash into move and absorb a lot of the impact. I've been in quite a few crashes only one my fault we hit a wall at 20mph in a friends van it was way more brutal than getting rear ended by a dodge ram doing 40+ while I was sitting at a red light. Also got hit by a drunk driver head on at an intersection I was doing about 10 mph who knows how fast he was going but it was the most violent crash I've ever been in he hit me so hard there were skid Mark's in the road from my jeep sliding backwards and his car bounced off and ended up about 15 - 20 feet from mine in the other direction. He did $15k in damage to the jeep.

  9. I thought Jack Daniels is made in a dry county meaning they can make it there but not sell it in a retail store

Not sure about where JD is at but some dry county's have loopholes around the law. I was in a dry county in Texas and got served at a bar the loophole was you had to be a member of the bar, lifetime membership cost $1. It was the only one in the city I was in though so cops sat outside waiting for drunk drivers even heard the bar would turn you in good thing we had a dd.

  10. Well you're going to have to have the max dimensions you are willing to give up before anyone could help you decide what size subs to get as they all do not require the same volume. So if we were to tell you get the 18's and you ordered them to find out you don't have the space to build them the proper enclosure you would probably get pretty pissed about it.

  11. A guy with those skills probably clears $100k. why even bother going through the trouble to win a $300 amp? Although I don't think we should bash the guy for using his skill set If the contest was something that any of our skill sets would give us an advantage we would all use them to our advantage.
