  1. if you were to run a slot port all the way across the back of the enclosure your may have noise probs. you would have a 45" x 3.5" port. I've been told to do ports in a 3 to 1 or 2 to 1 ratio. so a 160 sq" port (roughly) would be 18" x 9"
  2. Fi website says 5-10 ft3 per 18". Then you need 16 sq" of port per ft3. Once you know roughly how much net enclosure space you will have you can start figuring the lenght of the port for your desired frequency. Your fist thing to do is figure exactly how much of your cargo area you want to take up then measure that space. Take your measurement from that and subtract the thickness of MDF you want to use. probably double 3/4" on every wall and your floor and your baffle. Tehn you have your internal air space. Then subtract woofer and port displacement and you have your net ft3
  3. Cool. Yeah, I'm gonna need to build some pods for my tweeters. Think I should use that flex filler stuff with their Fiberglass tape or just fiberglass?
  4. Just got this in today from the postman. Old school cool found on ebay. I love the old pheonix gold amps. Rated @ 30 x 4 @ .02 thd and 120 x 2 bridged @.02 thd. should do close to 300 x 2 @ 1% thd. And some naked shots for the pervs no signs of abuse...lucky me....will see if she has any extra baggage this week, but I'm guessing she's clean
  5. It'll do that for you as well. By putting the image above the dash it's actually easier to hear above monster bass
  6. Look at what UPS brought me today. I can't believe how excited I get about new car audio equipment Still waiting for Amp, 50 sq ft of deadener, cables and wire, should be all here on Monday. And the fun begins.
  7. Here's and Idea for your tweeters and should give a great front stage. Place main tweeters in the kickpanels and aim them at the dome light. Then install second set in A pillars with -3 to -6 db setting (have to play with until you like). Makes a very spacious front stage and places all the images way above the dash. That's what I'm doing and it's a suggestion.
  8. on the other thread the pics are too small to choose from. I tried to search but an error message came up. Can you put the link up to the thread with the original thread with the pics or cahnge the other thread so the pics can be enlarged.
  9. about the only amp that does that much power @ 2 ohm that I can think of is the kicker 2500.1. I little higher price but here you go http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-07-KICKER-ZX2500-1...1QQcmdZViewItem

    1 Ohm

Matters on what ohm load the speakers are wired to. If your subs are wired to 2 ohms then you will have 2400 x1 at 2 ohms. but each amp will be 1200 @ 1.
  11. Well, Fatmat doesn't seem to do so well according to this review. I only bought 50 sq ft so I will only be doing the front doors for now. This reviewer suggest RAAMaudio stuff, have you used it? Also, how unbiased is this review?
  12. well, I just ordered it (didn't get the response until just after I placed order). A little overkill on the front doors never hurt
  13. Also, as far as CAE is concerened, is it worth it to use the deflex disks? And if it is what size would you use behind 6 3/4" speakers the 7" disk or 9" disk
  14. does it work as well as Dynamat. The most impressed I've ever been was my Bronco with Mud tires = silent @ 60mph on highway with dynatmat (2-layers on every piece of metal) Will this do as well?
  15. I've always used Dynamat....I found this stuff on E-bay. Does anyone have experience with this stuff? It' a great deal. Tell me what you know or think. http://cgi.ebay.com/50sf-FatMat-Car-Audio-...1QQcmdZViewItem
