  1. The sd model is said to be a slim mount, but tgat is a real slim mount.. The sd-2 just has a flatter magnet and vents from sides instead of back of magnet allowing for it to be butted up against the back of enclosure.. It is quite a bit shorter than the sa series tho..
  2. Would the sundown sd-2 8 work? They like seled boxes better..
  3. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/168386-step-by-step-how-to-video-soldering-sky-highs-power-cable-to-closed-end-terminals-pull-test-page-3/?p=2460072 Pretty much same as my method, but pretining the wire makes a lil better connextion.. And also keeps strands stuck together for easier insertsion

  5. This is how i have done in past Us iron or torch to pre tin the wire.. (Cover stripped wire with solder) Put closed end lug in vise. Get the ring term how as hell with torch. Fill with molten solder keep it hot with torch and slowly push wire into terminal Keep it hot with torch a sec to allow some of the solder to wick its way into the wire Hold still and allow to cool But id rather the other type terms. Personally
  6. I have thought of doing this.. Id say it couldnt hurt if you know how to de solder or maybe have a solder sucker
  7. Just did this yesterday.. Learned it about 6 years ago at school tho for soldering on big battery lugs.. (School was MMI) and. We used them for main batt cables on boats.. Had the big over sized crimpers for them witch when done properly is very effective, but in a marine enviroment that solder puddle keeps corrosion out alot better.. Also like to put heat shring on them and over lap the lug hole very slightly and push it out way with bolt.. Gives a clean look imo
