  1. I have a 2003 Chevy Tahoe, currently have 2 Skar Audio VVX 15s on 2K Watts in a 30Hz ported box. I have the subs sitting Up and the Port facing the rear (trunk lid). I plan on getting one or two PSI 18's soon but am having trouble figuring out what to do next. I LOVE LOW NOTES. And just dont feel that the Skar's put out the Lows loud enough (VVX 15 has an FS of 38hz, the PSI P3 18 is 27HZ!). I will be hopefully installing Murder Mat sound deadener soon which im sure will make the lows better, but still, im after LOUDER CLEANER Lows that my whole body can feel while still sounding amazing. I need to ask you guys (especially those with very high-end systems), how do i achieve clean loud lows?? Im aware that Box design is crucial. Would Subs Up Port Up be better for lows? Or having the subs and port both facing forward towards me? Also lets say for a single 18" sub, what Cubic FT should the box be for clean loud lows? Yes, Im pretty noobish at systems but im learning so anyone with advice please feel free to help thanks.
  2. In the market and just wondering if anyone has experience, good or bad, with their built subs. I know it seems like plenty have success with recones and I presume the built subs use many similar parts, but I have seen a few things online where people have had trouble. I really like the idea of being able to get them built specifically for my application, but have never heard them in person and haven't seen a whole lot of feedback. Also, any idea on response time from them when submitting a request?
  3. I've been thinking about doing a car trunk build next with 2 12's on a BC 5500 and deadening everything with Alpha Damp Deadener. Thing is: what would be best for LOW-end in a car build, having the enclosure and subs facing the Back of the trunk with the rear seats folded forward? Or, having the subs "sealed off" forward in the trunk? Im allll about Ground Pounding lows, but dont know what would sound best. The other thought that crossed my mind was just saying screw the rear seats and building a wall with 2 18's but i dont really want it to have to come to that. Ok either way im sure with 6000 watts and plenty of sound deadener the system will be nice, but id just like your guys' opinions on the whole situation (especially those with trunk builds themselves, experienced people please, and those who have big wattage like that), thanks!
  4. I change things a lot. I call it a hobby more than a project with a goal. I will try to find some old pics to post first to show some of how things have come along before posting the current system.
  5. Looking to put together a 2 15" trunk system and need to compile a list of subs to pick between. I am looking for around 2000 RMS handling, 3-4 K burps, and some good X-max (30mm ish+). It will be used for music, bass boxing, and SPL with the emphasis on being able to play below 40 Hz at high volumes for extended periods. Not looking for a sub vs thread, just wanting some suggestions that would fall into the group below that I have not yet though of. Price is not a major concern but I believe all the ones I have found so far are in the same range so lets stick with that. I would be interested in used ones if you have anything similar. Thanks!! 6. Updates on Pg. 4, new truck, new rims, and new system Well I guess it's about time I make one of these things. Still have a couple things to do to the truck, some motor and some body work. These are the pics I have available right now, next time I get a day off from retail hell, me and my boys will have a car cleaning party and I'll get pics of everything then. 1 Fi BTL 18 on a Rockford T1500-1bdCP [email protected], rest of equipment in sig, a few things will change soon and shit sells and I make more money. I have to be careful with what I'm buying with my second kid on the way, I will never let my family go without to feed my stereo needs. 7. So it all began this past March when I decided to get a low-cost daily driver. I found a deal on a 5 speed manual non-turbo Chevy Sonic. Built in America, 15000 miles, 1 previous owner (repo'd), and sales price about $12000. Blue Book is 15k, so this was definitely a deal. Test pic
