  1. browser keeps crashing so this will be done in sections. Let me start with saying this build was done in the sub 20 temperatures with occasional snow showers. I only had 3 days to complete build due to long work hours so it was kinda rushed! I came here looking for ideas on a new build to upgrade from my original 4 kicker comp cvr's and this is the results! 160 Ft" of 2/0 EB-Flex welding cable 2 XS D3100's Sky High fuse blocks Sky High 200 amp fuses Sky High 1/0 oversided copper lugs Sky High shrink tube 1 set of aluminum battery blocks
  2. So after looking for more than a year my wife has finally settled on a car she can live with. The 2018 Charger. It's me that wants the Hemi in it. So the Hemi comes in the R/T package and above. I think we are looking at either the R/T or the Daytona because the Daytona has the stuff that interests her. Such as good scoop, stripe, aesthetic stuff. Anways I know the 5.7 is a proven good motor but was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts or comments on the Chargers. In fixing to start looking at reviews and whatnot but we will probably be going to the lot this weekend to look and test drive. Thanks in advance.
  3. I change things a lot. I call it a hobby more than a project with a goal. I will try to find some old pics to post first to show some of how things have come along before posting the current system.

  5. I've been shopping for new cars and one of my local used car lots has a 2013 Dodge Charger, so I thought I would check it out. On their website it's listed as an R/T and has R/T badges on it.....but it has the SRT wheels, the SRT big oval grill, it has SRT stitched into the front seats, and the SRT8 badge on the dashboard. The listing ad says its a 5.7L, but the picture shows the 392 under the hood. Anyone ever see a Dodge Charger (or other car) mislabeled like this? I've requested the VIN number from him so I can try to look it up. If its a real deal SRT8....its 2013 with 38k miles for only $24k. Normally I would say the miles are high for 2013....but its a 392 !!! Stay tuned....
  6. For Sale: 275a Singer Alternator It was installed in a 2005 Dodge Stratus. Was in there for around a year with no problems. I had two Sundown X 12s on a Powerbass 3k. Never had any issues with voltage. Was originally $489, I would like to get $300 for it. I do not know if the warranty is transferable, but I know SInger honors his work, so I am sure that whoever buys it can just shoot him an email and find out. He did send me a list of what other vehicles the alternator can be installed on. The alternator is plug and play with these cars and engines only. It also comes with the belt that I bought for it. 2005 Dodge Stratus R/T Coupe 2-Door 2.7L 2700CC 167Cu. In. V6 GAS DOHC Naturally Aspirated 2005 Dodge Stratus SXT Coupe 2-Door 2.7L 2700CC 167Cu. In. 7. Those that know these trucks, know that there isn't any room for subs if you want to keep the your stereo incognito. When I started to install my system, I wanted to be different. I wanted a 15" sub under the back seat. Never seen anyone do this. So, I built a A-periodic enclosure...Old School. Long story short...The area was not able to be used due to the frame. Back to the drawing board. Mean while, I was working on a party boat with some stereo issues, I noticed that there was a sealed sub enclosure under the deck. The box was ported up thru the deck and sitting under an raised central table/bar area with a mushroom vent cap over the top of the port. Once I fixed the wiring issue and replaced the amps, I finally heard the sub...very impressed for playing out in the open on a 60+ boat. I was so impressed, I had to find out the name of the manuf., which was Niles. this sub was designed to be buried below ground, underground, sub for your back yard. My question is, could this or something like this be used? Mount the enclosure under the body and port it under the rear seat? It would be a bandpass enclosure. I don't want to build a blow-thru from my bed or go with a "off the shelf" enclosure. Garden Speakers&categoryID=Speakers&catcdID=1&prdcdID=FG01668 Thanks, Mike
  8. So need a little help from those who know a bit more about resistors and dummy loads. I have a 2013 Dodge Charger and since day one I have always had an issue with getting LOC's to work for me. I have used PAC, Xscorpion, No Name, Crappy Name and now using the AudioControl LC6i. Up until now I could not figure out the issue but after going through everything with a fine tooth comb and talking to a few guys who own a car similar to mine I have realized the Radio needs to see a load from 4 speakers to send a signal. I have never seen this before (any newer car I have done has kept stock mids/highs and only wanted to add bass). I tested it by unplugging my speakers 2 by 2 and sure enough the minute I unplugged 4 of 6 speakers the other 2 stopped working. So now I am at the point where I need to figure out a way to trick the radio into seeing a load. I figure a dummy load using resistors would be the perfect remedy. I however am not sure what resistors I need to use to make this happen. In the interim I have 4 small mids in a sealed pod hidden in my trunk giving me the load I need. I need to change this sooner than later as I am not a big fan of it at all. There is no option for swapping HU's so please do not mention it, I am keeping the stock radio.
  9. So my friend heard my system after one of our last finals and he really wanted a little bump. He said all he didn't want to spend bank on a system nor be "loud" like me. He said budget was $500-600. He told me to go ahead and lay out his system for him. Only downfall is that he wanted to stay stock radio so that was a twist. So I figured a single 12", needed a nice LOC and around 600w. Stuff already purchased and waiting to come in: Sub: Soundqubed HDS200 12" Amp: Audio Technix 400.1 (Now CT Sounds 500.1) Wiring kit was Audio technixs 4 GA Got the LC2i to make some low level outputs. Major thanks to walwalka to pointing out that awesome cost on the AT400.1 Almost picked one up for myself. 600w for $96 is a deal. Also pointed out the LC2i to me. MDF and charcoal carpet. With everything minus odds and ends like glue and screws total came out to be somewhere like $400. I got started on the box design right away.
  10. So I have some pictures of the way my sub enclosure is positioned and was wondering what I should do to make it better? Should I put a MDF board behind the wood so the sound is bouncing off that instead of the seat? Should I put the subs closer to the seat or futher? Just curious.
  11. Wass up bassheads. I need some help. Im deployed and have about 3 weeks left in this hole.. I have a SQ Q1-3500D.1 and 2 HDC3 18s (copper coils) waiting on me to return and I want to wall them in my 07 Dodge Charger. Im trying to figure out power to ^ft net ratio and port area for this build. What im working with: 46.5" wide, 35" high, and may be able to get anywhere from 19"-23" deep The subs will be wired @1ohm. I wanna tune between 34-37hz. I wanna be able to reach lows and still have a wide range on music (25-60hz if possible) I've been researching on builds like this and im aware that the suspension is stiff af and this really isnt a sub for lows, so ive been seeing, but know its achievable. I wanna build it so when it does hit those low hz, you can tell 4sure, and maybe pull off some hair tricks. (i def wanna do that haha) but still have a so so range on music. mostly rap. maybe some Dance Gavin Dance from time to time (thats my shit) anyways.. it will be daily so the port will be centered/vertically or ran across the top/horizontally (would def like some input on that as well) im open to all suggestions on how i can optimize this build to get the most out of these subs with everything i have available if you need to know anything else, then just ask. ive been using bassbox and torres to come up with designs but i really want to hear from someone that knows what they are talking about when it comes to Soundqubed. I just want a complete Soundqubed set-up in the whip.

  13. How do I fit this thing in my truck without taking up half the back seat lol.. Every custom box made for this model only fits 10s and 12s. Ideas??
  14. Hope this doesn't come out being a dumb question, but I've heard recently of some problems with some newer cars as well as older cars that have issues when adding high output alternators. Maybe not necessarily issues, but for instance I've heard some Dodges have something in their computer that won't allow for h/o alts to better charge systems than the factory alternator. Pretty much meaning, you might as well keep factory alt. If anyone has any info on this and would like to fill me in or help out with this topic, Thad be great!
  15. Im getting a new car and im looking to put a new system in it. Im leaning towards a dodge charger. Any ideas on what i should drop in it???

  18. Hey guys, this is my first post here, and everyone seems to be helpful here and so i thought before i build everything i should ask some people who may know more than me, if everything seems correct. I have a regular cab Dodge Dakota in which i am going to put in a sundown sa-8, i took measurements, and this box will fit behind my center console and behind the seats, It's just when designing i read how both ports must be the same length as written in the program, and as i believe this, i just want to make sure everything seems like it'll work before going further into this project. Sundown recommends 0.5-0.75 cu ft box tuned to 35hz, and i believe this should do. The port on the left side is the same dimensions as the one most visable. Thanks for your input! Sorry that the picture is a little small.
  19. My mom is considering plasti-dipping her stock rims on her dodge avenger in the flat purple out of the spray can. I'm a photoshop noob and was wondering if somebody could just change the color of the rims for me. Thanks in advance for any help! Google picture because her car is covered in snow, looks the same though.
  20. The first few pages are crap, ive come a long way since then... the good stuff starts on page 7!! 21. So I am starting on my 2nd build of the Challenger, The first build was a pretty good success.. but not near as loud as I would have liked; http://www.stevemead...ics-glx-14001d/. The equipment i'm planning on using is: 4 XFL-10's 1 VFL 450.1 2 DC Lv4 12's 2 Skar 1500.1 1 MB-Quart FX4.50 2 sets of MB-Quart ONX169's 20' Knu 1/0 OFC 40' Knu Kord Kable 10ga 20' Knu 8ga 2 1 XS Power D975 JVC KW AV60 Have lots of stuff due to be here next week.. and ordering a lot more next week as well. I've already gotten the box MOSTLY built, and component speakers in.. lets take a look. I didn't go as indepth this time.. because for a box this simple I didn't think it was really needed. In time will be wrapped in Faux Gator & Faux black leather. 3.2 CF @ 34Hz Yes.. I touched up those awful splits :/
  22. Ok so here's the deal, we just finished building my friends new sub box for his Kickers (meh) and we were going to paint it with bed liner or appliance paint but he got an idea to use Duck tape around the box then spraying or painting a clear coat on to protect the tape.... The idea is to have it look like it's wrapped in tape... Im a little hesitant to do this because I don't want to rebuild his box so do you think it's possible? If so, whats the best way to coat the Duck tape so that it won't peel?
  23. My first build log, hope you guys like it. Please tell me if you guys like it, what else i should do, give me ideas i know its not the best system right now, i've just started this so give me a break plz haha
  24. Good day all. I have an odd issue. On some bass notes there is no audio, just massive shaking. No deep audio tone, just a-lot of vibration. The whole truck shakes, windows rattle, mirror is violently shaking, but no audible bass. Most other bass hits strong and hard. Could this be a Sub-Sonic adjustment?
