  1. Hey everyone, I will be picking up an E12d2 V3 in the next week or so. They look pretty mean. This will be my first Sundown product and my first self-install. I previously ran 2 15" Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2s in my suburban. I'll be installing the E12 in my 2012 TC. I'll have it wired at 1 ohm and feeding it 600w rms. Think Sundown's page recommends a 1.75 cu ft ported box. So far I've only been seeing setups with multiple subs, so I don't really have much to go off of in terms of what to expect. Since I'm limited on space in my TC, I wont be running multiple subs or a giant box. Does anyone have or has anyone seen a single E12 perform in similar setups? This is sort of a budget install, so I'm not interested on upgrading to the SA series even though it's "only $100 more." If I still had my suburban, I'd consider it (or even the X series) due to having a lot more space to work with. But I don't. Any recommendations on box size, placement of enclosure, photos of your setup, or just reviews on the E12's performance is greatly appreciated. Thanks
  2. first off let me say hello to the forum =). i have just a question about a box and have some ides for them already just want some other options. I am wanting to get 2 sundown e12's for my single cab truck, i have a BRZ 1700.1 going to run them that has been clamped and believe me wont even be close to hurting these subs. From what i've read these subs are about 6.5 mounting depth which i can get by with. my problem is about the biggest box i can get is 2.38ft^3 sealed. i really want these to be ported but it will reduce my box by a TON. My specs i have are. Width - 54" , Height - 14", Top Depth - 6", Bottom Depth - 9.5". It's all going in a 2001 single cab chevy , and has to stay under 14" for the car seat brackets as i have a one year old son. i have built around 5 boxes both sealed and ported, and of course will be using 3/4 mdf. any ides for boxes or suggestions for my setup would be greatly appreciated. thanks =) http://i666.photobuc...er71/e12box.png
  3. I am thinking of going for a bit more bass, upgrading from my 1 15. My bass amp is a crescendo audio bc2000D, and i was looking for advice. Which of these 2 options would be a better use of the power i have? option A: 4 12" d2 Sundown E series wired to 1 ohm. option B: 2 15" d4 Sundown SA series wired to 1ohm. * not a vs thread just want to use the little money i have wisely. thanks in advance for your advice, dom.
  4. So i've read many threads asking a similar question on a variety of sites but i never saw a good "educated" response which didn't sound like it was written by a 15 year old. Just to clear things up, is there a negative to going with 1 "good" 15" sub, instead of 2 "crappier" 12"s?? I don't have the power, budget or cabin room to run 2 sa12s so im deciding between 1 sa15 or 2 e12s. It's a really hard decision to make, due to the many myths u hear about 15" subs, so any help will be greatly appreciated! Also just to support my decision, does anyone here think that 2 sa12s on 1700 watts is just too overkill for a corolla 15"??
  5. I need help designing a box for a friend. The whole porting thing kinda confuses me. We're running 4 Sundown Audio e-12s off a Hifonics Elite BRE2500.1 Its going in his Ford Explorer SUV and he wants to do subs up, port up, if at all possible. I got measurements today and his max dimensions are 41" wide by 18.5" tall and max 33" deep. We want to definatly make it 41" wide and 18.5" tall so it fills up the back from wheel well to opposite wheel well, and we want it 18.5" tall so it sits flush to the height of the back seats. The 33" deep is just a maximum, it will probly need to be less than the full 33" cuz with that dimension it would probly have too much volume for the subs. Sundown recommended specs are 2ft^3 per subs @ 35 hz, but we both really love the lows and are thinking of doing something along the lines of 32hz. I run 3 SA8 V2s on 2400RMS @ 32 hz and 1.8 ft^3 and the 32 hz definatly sounds great so I'm not all that worried about tuning to 32hz instead of 35hz... So anyway I'm not a total noob at car audio, I just don't know all that much about designing boxes. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I'd gladly send some money via paypal if your willing to help me out on a good design. Thanks
