Question..their is a MOSFET underneath the board. Right under the power input. Its fried to a crisp. But the amp still works fine. I kinda think it powers the lights, because I noticed when I got it one of the bulbs are busted and grounded out to the heat sink. Anyway, anyone know what kinda MOSFET it is? I'd like to get it fixed. Its beyond recognizable.. Any help would be great! I know a lot of people diss audiobahn, I don't like most of their stuff myself. But this amp matches my immortal. And will do good pushing it, thats all I need it to do.

I have a 2300hct. It works fine. But their is a mosfet under the board..right under the power input. I noticed one of the lights was busted and grounded out on the heat sink. And the lights don't work. So I think it's a power mosfet for the lights. Anyone know what kinda mosfet it is? I would like to replace it. It's burned to a crisp. Can't make anything out on it. I know their are a ton of audiobahn haters out there. I got this amp to match the immortal I have. And it will push it just fine. I'm not trying to compete with it or anything. So it does the job. Any input would be great! Thanks guys

DC Audio recone

I'm looking at buying a dc audio level 5 15 from a friend that is blown. Has anybody used the dropping hz recone kit? or have experience reconeing this particular or other dc sub? How good is performance after rebuild, also what is the difference in performance with the different spider options? -
My friend has an older DB Drive Platinum 2k amp, dual 1/0 terminals, lots of power! He had it on low volume, was playing fine and it suddenly went into protect. No smoke, no popping sound, nothing, just clicked into protect and will not recover. As the older DB Drive Platinum's are very good amps I understand, I would be more than willing to make a $40 investment if the repair wouldn't be too costly. Does anyone have any ideas as to why the amp would go into protect? Other amp works fine wired the same way, have unhooked everything except the power/ground and still remains in protect. We opened up the bottom and the guts all look normal, no burning anywhere, no smell..... Could there be multiple reasons for this or is it most likely one certain thing? Any help is appreciated, I need to dump this Hifonics! lol Thanks!

I slipped with my screw driver and put a hole in the side of my surround. Below is a picture - I repaired it with Sureflex. I may have used a bit much. Where you see the most concentrated area of the adhesive is where the hole was. Is this something that needs to be replaced (re-cone)? Will this effect sound at all? What are your thoughts? I appreciate any help.. Thank you.

Hi guys, I recently bought a Sundown SA-8. I bought it for a relatively cheap price due to the surround being torn. I have been around the internet looking for a replacement surround but all I can find is a whole recone kit. I don't really have a reason to nor do I want to do a whole recone. I just want to find a replacement rubber surround. If anyone can point me in the direction of a new surround or if anyone can explain why I have to do the whole recone it would be greatly appreciated. My SA-8 is a v1.5

Does anyone know of a good place to repair an amp? The amp is an oldschool PPI pc21400 that my dad used back in the day. There's a few transistors and resistors burnt with a small part of the board being charcoal black. Is it even possible to fix it? I've gone to the cheap shops on 11th street in downtown L.A. and nobody wants to lay hands on it. Is it worth fixing? Can it be fixed? How much should it cost? Should try toI sell it?
