help needed with amp setup

ok i just purchased the hifonics brutus 1700.1

have my two dvc 2 ohm subs wired down to 2 ohm for the 1200 rms they can handle.

my rockford 500 i took out before when i my hu was turned to 15 was moving them nice.

the brutus has to have the hu turned up to like 22. is that normal?

and also the rockford said it paralleled internally. the brutus doesnt say that but the wiring diagram it came with shows exactly how i have them wired. so now im confused cause there is 2 sets of + and 2 sets of - on the amp with nothing letting me know it parallels inside.

if you understand this at all i just am trying to understand why going from 500 to 1200 its takes more volume.

What model hifonics? You were probably getting more clean power from the rf. Set your gains with a dmm to help from clipping and to get clean power from hifonics idk what you mean by paralled internally. Its a mono amp so its bridged internally if that's what you mean

Dmm will not help with cliping so don't give that info out...the only way 2 test for cliping is with a o-scope

keep in mind only the ends of the little dials are labled so i have no exact number.

i have the sub sonic around 30ish

low pass is prob 50ish

bass eq is half way up

level would be around 4ish

Turn low pass to the 12 oclock position that will put you closer to (~eighty) hz

Bass eq put at 2 oclock position, try that see how it does.

At 4ish for level that would be at a 1v preout setting, just guessing, so you must have a pretty weak headunit for preout voltage?

ok what we have here is a failure to communicate.

those numbers i gave you is what i would guess they would be if they were labeled. not like looking at them on a clock.

when i said 4ish i meant the level would be 4 volts. not 4 oclock.

From the picture you sent me. You can't compare your old amp to this out, do you know what the voltage range is on the old amp on the gain, the hifi say 9v - 0.2 volt is your rf the same? Likely not or you have something else changed between the two.
