cmegorm250 Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 okay so im finally tired of having a half drained battery evertime i start up my truck. my lil 70amp alt has to go. i was looking at mechman alt and im just wondering how much modifying do you have to do to get a bigger alt to fit. or is it simple and hooks up to the stock brackets? and what voltage can the stock electrical handle? mine rest at 14.3

Ive noticed for many GMs that they can handle around 16 volts. Chode Durangho sits in mid-high 15s. Getting this moved to the "Mechman" section, along with posting your cars year, make, model, and engine size would help.
