yes but its worth it. the bass is so much smoother and sounds so much better than the audiopipe.

i will say a pair of obsidian 12's (which their tests have proven that it can handle more power better than the sdc2.5 and is only 1db quieter than a dd 9512) on an audioque 1200. knukonceptz 4 gauge kit. box materials = $50. design = cheap or free.

iKid, I am in Frankfort...And im not really car audio inclined yet all that much...so i really dont know what to get for sure and how to install it...i know how to do some but i really am clueless on the Big3 and KnuKonceptz

if you're in high school you probably know my step brother haha, but like kranny said, the obsidians are a good choice as well, i was gonna go with those until i got my dc's. There's tutorials and shit all over the place here so you can learn..

but with my subs and amp...i just want something im not gonna want to get rid of within months...basically i dont want any generic put-put subs...i want something worth the time of install.

hit up corona_jeff on here about dc pricing, or chode69, dwright27, thorshammer, wcarusty, cj18, and there's another 1 or 2 i'm probably forgetting...but they'll get you hooked up, you won't go wrong with dc. you can afford 2 of the level 3's, and if you buy from Jeff he deals American Bass amps, which are really good and are fairly priced (Dwright27 does too). and then all you'd need was a box and wiring kit, which are easily made/obtainable

if you're wanting real low bass i'd go with the dc's..aq's are pretty nice too, step brother has one of the sdc 15's in his passat. But you can pretty much get the DC's for the same price or cheaper i think..up to you though.
