Heres what I have so far starting from when I got the truck, a 2004 Chevy Crew-cab 1500. I am 26 years old and have enough time for some projects like boxes, and late nighters like the radar detector install, smoking the lights and grille etc. but the bulk of the wire pulling, and alarm install were done by a local shop. K&N intake Sub: Kicker Solo X 12" Amp: Kicker ZX2500.1 at 4ohms Box: Built by myself, based from online "plans" Deck: Pioneer AVIC D3 Door Speakers: 2 pairs of MbQuart PVI216 Components Amp: MbQuart 4x250w 10 farad capacitor 0 and 4 ga Stinger amp pulls "Big three upgrade" Dynamatted doors Beltronics Rx75 built in radar detector The box is made of 1" MDF with a doubled up top plate. All joints are bonded with gorilla glue and cured. I covered it in about 6 coats of Dupli-Color spray on bed-liner, or 5 cans total. I plan to use another can for touch up, and to hit the bottom once more. The box alone weighs around 65lbs, ontop of the MONSTER magnet on the Solo X. I opted to sacrifice the small rear seat because I have dogs, and need to fold the backrest down flat. With most under seat boxes you cant fold the back down all the way. Dimensions of the box are approx 30 x 23 x 20. 1/2" Plexi on one side Shoulda turned the flash off Rounded corners, red hardware Rear crossovers and amp Cap and amp in box in, sorry for the glare
Skunkbudfour20 Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 Tinted the front windows to match the rear, smoked headlights, tails, cab light. Black grille and chevy emblem. Painted my factory wheels black for winter... used a self etching primer, with duplicolor wheel coating. Fun project and love how they look. holds up great to that de-icer sh*t they use on the roads Viper 5901 with some fun addons, window relays (2), glass break sensor, tilt sensor, PA and talking voice module... Got it mostly tuned and havent had many problems. Beltronics RX75 with ProPack (Built in radar detector with laser "shifters" lol)... all i can say is WOW, this thing blows every other radar detector I have seen and used away... I did the install myself in 5 hours, I still need to fab up some aluminum brackets to lower the front shifters but... I havent had any use for the jammers because its winter. Recon "xtreme" LED taillight bar... im 50/50 on this one, love how it looks but its a piece of crap for the most part. Switch panel, bass knob on top, indicator LED (radar detector), and 3 switches for "things"... Added a mirrored piece of plexi to the bottom of the sub box... Nobody believed it was just 1 12" sub anyways Summer 20s And thats where im at now! My list for the future includes: Custom window decal to rep the shop that my install (stereo, alarm), XM radio, Steering wheel controls, Red and black neoprene seat covers, Red LED gauge cluster and dash lights DIY, Headrest monitors, exhaust/programmer, eventually a lift/wheels/tires... Would like to find another SPAIR cone for the SoloX (4ohm) so i can run the amp at 2 ohms instead of 4. Right now its PLENTY LOUD, so not a huge priority. Would also love a black suede headliner and black carpet but thats a big project. Any questions or comments are encouraged! Will have DB numbers soon hopefully... hard to find a mic around these parts during the winter months[/color]

I think I sacrificed some sound quality using the plexi on one side, and not filling the box with polyfill or something similar... I also wanted thicker plexi but couldnt find it in my neck of the woods. I have some other box ideas that i would like to try, but cant really take the time right now to play around. Would also like to try another amp for the components, possibly an Audison or Hertz Guess we will see how it sounds when I double the power... Anybody want to trade a dual 2 ohm SPAIR for a dual 4 ohm?
