96saturnsl
well im looking at putting a 302 in my ranger to replace the gutless 3.0 v6. i know i need a tranny and the 302 with harness and computer plus motor mounts...but what else do i need to buy to make this work? and its 4x4 so i want to keep the 4x4 workable. i believe ill need a rear end too. anyone have any answers for me?? ive done motor swaps and built engines before but never converted from a v6 to a v8
dwright27
You'll more then likely need the whole front suspension setup ( the hubs etc. ) and some beefy ass tires in the rear to keep it from slinging around. Had a buddy that did this and it was ridiculous. Quote 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L. Here's a bunch of info. http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/V8Conversions.html And here's a link for some parts you may need. http://www.jamesduff.com/broncoII/v8conversion.html Also, Check PMs in a min.
