hey guys, I ve been looking into baggin a 2005 jeep liberty 4x4. Nothing too crazy but it seems to be unheard of by a lot of people. It seems simple enough, a-arms in the front and straight axle 4-linked in the rear. Was thinkin a custom cup and bag set up all around replacing the coil springs it has already. I know it wouldnt lay frame, i dont plan to do that at all. just to get it on air using 3/8" air line an 5 gallon tank with one or two compressors. Not too fast but not too slow, its on 20s now and not lookin to change wheels, but with the wheel arches on the liberty an the offset on the wheels i can maybe cut the plastic out of the wheel arches to give that tucked look. The 4x4 system would also cause some issues but im not lookin to get rid of that for whatever reasons...But any suggestions, tips and advice would be great. I have an idea of air setup I want so i will take any advice with lots of consideration. thankks

I'd Ditch the front shafts and get it as low as possible! Anything is possible with enough work and the want for low!!!

oh really? you can just pull the front axles and have everything be hunky dorey?

I don't plan to take the awd system out of the truck, if I was to do that I would try to tub the rear and see how low I can get it, but I would rather try to lay frame with a real truck. As far as the jeep goes, I just want to get it on air for the nice cruisin an parked stance

unless you plan on cutting into you floor pan for the 4 link in the rear, that will probably be very tricky to accpomplish... if your not notching the frame, you really dont need a 4 link on it... if you just want a nice low stance, but no frame dragging, i would suggest either doing a 2 link set up in the rear, or mono leafing it, with a drop block, and an over the axle, or behind the axle set up

subs: 4 AQ HDC3 18's, walled in a clamshell box

amps: subs- 2 modded AQ 2200's, running 2550 at 1 ohm each

components: (rf p1 8:(midbass), 2 cadence cwm 6.5, memphis pr 6.5 coax)- each door

HU: android galaxy tablet, Kenwood KVT-516

2/0 gauge ran all around

6 optima red tops (will be updated, i get them DIRT cheap)

keeping my fingers crossed for membership into the 160 db club!

Im not tryin to lay this thing out, Im just looking for an aired out stance, don't want to go with a static drop with the leaf and drop block tho. In the rear I would go with a bag and brackets on the axle, its just the front is tricky with the front drive axles from the 4x4 system pokin between the control arms. I seen in that link that was posted they used these wild 2 joint flexible shafts that would probly cost more than the bag system itself. Don't think I need anything like that as I don't plan to lay it out.

But this guys jeep it 2wd, which is causing me the biggest issue, but I figure it could be done since its not a scraper

thats what i'm trying to tell you... in the rear, unless you take a leaf out, and put in a drop block... or put in a link system in, the air bags wont matter... cuz it will still ride along at stock ride height. a general rule of thumb for bags (unless your doing a completely custom fab) is to do a static drop first, to the height you want it when fully dropped, and then put the bags on. i hope that helps explain the rear a lil....

as far as the front... that is extremely tricky. i dont have much experience with dropping 4WD's, except i kno that they are a PITA... so i'm not going to speculate on the best way for you to do it... i let the guys with experience in baggin 4WD's handle that one

I understand now what ya meant with the leaf spring and drop block, but she's on coil springs in the rear so I was just thinkin I'd need to replace the springs with fab'd brackets, didn't think the static drop would apply.

And the front I'm still lookin into how to do that, found some ideas for it, one was doin a strut bag set up, still lookin into that
