@ dereileak - Thanks, you know you could help contribute to this build by selling me that amp at a good price! Haha Jk, as for finding events, I just put the word out that I was looking, and a friend told me about the one yesterday, which led to more.

@ groundpounder122 - Thanks for the interest, actually I am new w/ it also, I just keep going until I'm happy, which means a TON of sanding and "body work". Also, the better the materials, the easier they are to work with. Good luck man!

And now on to todays events. I got my 140, and got first place in my class. Today was a good day!

Here is a couple of videos. The first is me doing clinics, finding my cars peak. If you pay attn, starting at 4:35 you will see me get a 141.1

And this is my single run, modified 2 class, which I could not believe I actually won w/ a 140.6! And that was after giving them back 20 seconds! Haha, not by choice. I aint gonna lie, I got lucky as hell, too many people dropped down and I was one of only four in my class. But a win is a win, and I'll take it!

So, what do you guys think a realistic goal to set is with this equipment?

enjoying music at loud levels. why do you car about numbers youll only see few times a year?

i sat in a car that did 146 db with one 15" sub and it was loud. then i got back in my car with "only" 143,7 db and to my ear im louder on music, thats what i care about.

my 15 L7 build

my youtube channel with lots of L7 videos

Thanks for the reply. As for your subs being louder on music, I totally believe that, b/c you are in a sealed box. Your 143.7 could easily be a 146, if you went ported. But I understand why u went sealed, if it sounds better, than it sounds better. As for me, I don't listen to music all that loud anymore, feel like its making me go def. Mine gets so loud it hurts your ears, no lie. But I had a lot of fun competing this past weekend, so I wanted to see if I could improve on my score.

Thank you very much, yeah it's probably the closest to being finished. Just got the top panel to do and it's done

I wanted to see if I could improve on my score.

more power (impedance raise is an important factor) and another box with switchable ports (around cars resonance freq).

I'm definitely building another box, and the switchable ports is a really good idea! TY!

As for the impedance raise, my subs are D2 ohm, and the voice coils are wired in series, subs are parallel, for a 2 ohm final impedance. Which is where my amp is limited, it's only stable down to 2 ohms. But I'm open to suggestions.

Is there a way to wire them differently, and get better results?

So, honestly, what's your opinion? If u think this is a dumb idea, please explain why. Thanks guys!

Okay guys, so not a lot has been going on with my build, as I have had to endure through some hard times here lately. The worst being laid off, and all the stress that comes with it. But today I finally got a break, I think it was destiny.

A local shop, called "Car Stuff Unlimited" called today and offered me a job. They are the biggest, best shop in my area by far! They have been in business for almost 20 years. Needless to say, I took the job, and let me tell you, I am pumped!!! Other than getting a high-paying union job, or something like that, this the best I could have hoped for! Now I take night classes in the mean time, to finish my degree. But I truly think that things happen for a reason. I believe it was meant for me to work in this field.

So what does this mean for the "Kickin' Cruiser"? Oh man, it means Ima be doin some work this summer!

So stay tuned, more to come I promise!
