box for (2) 10" hdc3 copper

Recommended Posts

Just order my second HDC3 and like to start planning my box. I understand AQ recommend 2.5 - 3 cube tune around 36-37hz. Buy my goal is to have a daily box that can put up decent numbers (150 would be the ultimate goal). I don't mind building two boxes, one for daily and another for numbers.

Amp: AP3000d (the plan is to run @1ohm for number and 4ohm daily)

** considering upgrading amp down the road or get another AP3000d**

Batts: xs 5100r front + xs3100d back + 90amp stock alt

96 integra... peak frequency: 44-46hz

Plan 1: 3.15 cube NET tune to 37hz (slot port @ 50 ft^2) port & subs back

Plan 2: 3 cube NET tune to 39hz (w/ (3) 4" aero port) subs up & port back

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated!

Are those plans for two subs or one? They seem small for two subs. Wouldn't you want to tune lower for daily pounding?

EDIT: Or are those SPL boxes

plans for daily... but would like to have put out decent number. Lots of peeps say the sub plays below tuning with no problem.... I haven't really look into that.

I'd still tune around 34-35hz for daily. Do a spl box with a 50hz tuning(use aeroports) and adjust tuning until you stop gaining.

RAM, what box size do you recommend...

I've had good results with 1.5ft^3 for one. So something like 2.75-3ft^3 would work good for a pair in a daily box.
