eric78702 Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Okay so I was wondering if I put a piece of wood as long as my port so it won't flex. Will that change the tuning frequency since I'm putting a piece of wood down the middle? Quote
DannyV18 Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Yes it would change tuning. Why put a piece of wood down the middle of the port? Quote
eric78702 Posted March 28, 2011 Author Report Posted March 28, 2011 Yes it would change tuning. Why put a piece of wood down the middle of the port? Because the wood in front of the port flexes (flaps back and forth) Quote
blownengine Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 Your trying to double layer the port to prevent flex? Put the second layer on the inside of the box. That way it takes up box space, not port space. And technically decreasing box space changes your tuning, but it shouldnt be alot. DannyV18 Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 If it's a slot port then the best thing you can do is double up the wood on the outside. Won't change tuning or internal volume, just gross volume. Quote
Guest Posted March 28, 2011 Report Posted March 28, 2011 wait...what wood is in front of the port? picture please? Quote
eric78702 Posted March 28, 2011 Author Report Posted March 28, 2011 So double the part that flexes? Quote

Uhhhh still lost. The wood around the opening of teh port is flexing? Or the inside port walls themselves?
