KevinniveK Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 Hi guys I just had a quick question about when to disconnect/reconnect my fuse and/or negative battery terminal today. I'm going over to my friend's house soon and we're going to build a platform to mount my subwoofer box to and I also wanted to reorganize the mess of wires in the back of my car so it looks neater and I was wondering when should I disconnect the negative battery terminal and/or fuse and when should I reconnect it?

cubs_fan0718 Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 Always disconnet ur negative terminals first, if you do that there should be no juice flowing and u shouldnt have to worry about disconnecting any fuses, just remember always unhook ur grounds first and always hook them up last. tacomabanga1986 Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 disconnect it when u start and reconnect it when ur done? lol, if u have a 2 battery setup disconnect each battery's pos n neg, i always due just to keep stuff safe, i just disconnected my front battery but kept my stinger hooked up and when i opened my door everything kept working lol its just safe if ur gunna be a while to disconnect pos n neg just to "make sure" nothing happins, my power wire was loose on my amp and it kept touching ground but never blew a fuse but car was off tho so thats prolly why but if u have a cap or second battery disconnect those or discharge cap befor u start working on something and u should be good hope this helps here's a link to my system 99 toyota tacoma , 2 mtx 8000 1504's in a sealed downfire , 1000w memphis amp here's a link to my other system my 90 geo prizm test car heres a thread i got of new songs u can dl that are legal = Some Good Bangage/you Can Dl These Free And Legit
