just do what i say, and do a slot port i'll draw a sketch up and see what i can fit in there.. you just need to listen to us. we're here to help and if you haven't built it... then why are you arguing with us by telling us you can't do slot, .. the answer is yes you can do slot or aero's.. either or.. but you don't have the design drawn up yet.. so you don't know what you're doing.. so let us help... or i'll just shut my ass up and leave this thread... lol

I wasnt arguing dude...wtf i just said there wasnt any room for one. If you want to try to sketch up one it would be great and i would thank you. The maximum box demension for my trunk and to fit it throught the hole of my trunk are 34" Wide 17" Height and 27" Depth

ok you have 2 options, slot port on side or in middle on same side of subs, or do subs up, port back and you can deal with 5 or 6 4 in round ports :), take a pic and i'll sketch one up

is there a sound difference from putting the subs up to facing them back? would putting the subs up have less bass?

every car is different

when i did my very first box, i built a box with sub back and port back, and it sounded alright and then built another but subs up and port back and it got louder, then i did subs up and port towards cabin and sealed it off and got louder again.. so its all about testing and seeing what you like...what you could also do is get a sub and box from a friend and do all the nessary setup and see what sounds best for you. Again every car is different due to peak frequency

when i had my 2 type r's it sounded best facing back. I could extend my box width to 36" in the front to 15" depth and then do a 34" width to 12 inches to make a total of 27" depth. that might give you a little more room for a port in the middle. also i dont know what the diameter of the subs are with the black mounting part. is it still 15"? or more?

the cutout for the subs is generall anywhere from 14 in to 14.25 but the alpines are 14 1/16, its generally 15 to 15 1/2 with the gasket and frame around it

are you sure because i just measured my 12" type r and it was 12.6 inches and that was a small gasket. Is there anyway i could find out?

oh you said 15 in subs now you're talking about your 12's...

i was speaking on behalf of the 15's, which subs you gonna use, the 12's or 15's for the new box?

Found out there 15.6 " with mounting diameter
