SQMonte Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 Well my seals didn't help with my leaking problem, so SQ, u ever had any issues with ur monte leaking into the doors and into the floor? its like the seals just soak up the water and let it in anyway. It really starting to piss me off. I haven't had any issues with the water leaking into the floor but my passenger side door does like to take in water. I just got done washing it a few minutes ago and after I dried the car I started detailing my wheels....dried the rims/dried the tires/applied sealant to the rims/applied tire dressing/removed sealant from rims.....after doing all that I STILL had water leaking from my passenger side door. I'm not talking a drop here an there, i'm talking a damn puddle as if i poured a cup of water on the ground. Back in winter time (90 degrees here mayne!) one day me and my girl were going somewhere and I hadn't started the car yet, when she got in and closed the door she said "what's that water sound? sounds like there's water in the door." So she opened the door and sure as shit, you could hear the water swishing around in there. I haven't sweated it much cause it's not getting on my speakers or coming inside the car so it's whatever. But if you ever get it figured out, let me know cause I probably need the same thing. Major props to you on getting your trunk lid deadened like that. That's how I wanted to do mine but got frustrated and just layered the whole damn thing.....as neat as I could of course But please tell me you didn't take the seats and carpet out just to run the wires, you did deaden under the carpet you took out too, right? shmew22 Posted May 6, 2011 Author Report Posted May 6, 2011 I didn't have my deadener at the time... had to take out the carpet and let it dry for a few days so it wouldn't mold. i just tidied up the cables while i had the opportunity... im going to deaden the floor, but im waiting till i have more stuff to do under there than just to deaden... lol. too much damn trouble to get that stuff out. EDIT: I fail at grammar...
shmew22 Posted May 11, 2011 Author Report Posted May 11, 2011 Ok, kinda small update... got my passenger door deadened (got too excited to take a done pic tho, will do that soon) And Took a few shots of the monte after i cleaned her up a bit. Also got a shot of the box test fit from the rear. with the now present mess of non tidy cables. Biggest part of the update tho... SUBS ARE COMING!!! Got em ordered today so they should be here later this week or maybe monday/tuesday of next. Hope sooner than later tho.

I wrk at a car lot n a big prob we have wit montes leakin is from tha seal round tha windshield which u gotta replace tha whole windshield unfortunately... u gotta b careful tho cuz ur airbag module is under ur passenger seat also and if it gets 2 wet it'll fry n make ur air bag light come on til u replace tha POS lol tha best way I kno 2 find out where its leakin is pull tha carpet up n hld a hose over all ur seals tha door n windshield n everythang n have sum1 inside watch n see where it cums in at hope I helpd ya keep up tha good wrk MANE!!!

We hosed that baby down and the only place i really saw it comin from was the door, thought it may have been leaking under the cabin air filter but i never saw any water come down the firewall area. I'll end up hosing it down again prolly to see if i can spot anything else. Thanks again
