bassinblazer Posted April 18, 2011 Report Posted April 18, 2011 Alright guys, over the last few weeks, in anticipation of getting my tax return, I have been stoked about putting a system back in my truck. I have a budget of about, well lets say less than 1500 bucks. I already have my wire for my big 3 on order, and my alternator is next if I need it after my new battery goes in. I have looked, and looked, and looked, at a TON of different manufacturers. It has been a LONG time since I spec'd out a quality system, as last time I worked at a shop, it was people buying the cheapest stuff they could and having me put them in their audi's. Anyway, I have been out of the loop for a while. I know the basics, but there are SOOO many subwoofer manufacturers to look at now it is unreal. I have looked at and REALLY liked Ascendant Audio, RE, FI, and DC. I just PM'd chode about a price on 2 level 4 12's and level 3 12's. Those subs are beastly looking and a lot of people run them. I had friends who had RE's and FIs and both were loud also. I haven't touched anything AA ever in my life since they are a newer company. Only thing I know is Steve bumps the shit out of them. I am planning on running Dual 4 ohm VCs and having a 1 ohm load to my amp. I am buying the appropriate amp for the subs. So here is the question. Does anyone have suggestios? I am trying to find something at about 200 a piece, at about 1K rms each. I really would love to have a set of DCs, but I don't know how much they are and I am preparing for the worst with like a $400Ea price tag or something. Any other suggestions? I have canceled out RF and JL because I don't want to pay for the name. I had a $500 dollar system that was louder than my buddies 2 T1's so not that they got a bad rap, but they just cost WAYYY too much for all the more you get out of them.
