itunes help

Everytime i try to download itunes it gets to the very end and says "couldn't access network location %appdata%\" I have tried downloading using IE and Fire Fox but nothing works... Any ideas? BTW I just did a complete restore on my PC less than a week ago so it may just be that I need a driver or something...?? PC is a Dell Inspiron 530 if it matters..

I will warn you that if you edit the registry and mess up, you will mess up your computer!

If you got a new computer, just create a new user account and set it up as the Administrator. Since you have a Dell, you need to create a new user within the user account setup.

Go to control panel, click on User Accounts and create a new user. Make sure to set it as Administrator access and download i-tunes again. This should fix it. My wife had the same issue with her Dell 410.

I am NOT computer savy, LOL, but I did this:

These are the fixes for that error that I am familiar with...The first one usually does it.

Click on Start-Run, type regedit (without the quotes) Navigate to this registry path:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> Software --> Microsoft --> Windows --> Current Version --> Explorer --> User Shell Folders

Clear the key: Recent (right mouse click on the key/folder, choose Delete) Close the Registry Editor and restart the computer.

I found the "user shell folder" but now what do I do? I don't know what "clear the key" means... Delete it?

Yes just delete the key, close the editor and restart the computer. It should work after that!

DO NOT DELETE THE WHOLE SHELL FOLDER! YOU WILL MESS UP YOUR SYSTEM SETTINGS.

YOU SHOULD SEE SOMTHING LIKE THIS WITHIN THE FOLDER.

etc.... it should display the name type data field.

Just right click you mouse on the right data field and click delete!
