MattMazurek Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Alright this may sound stupid, but i had connected my trusty pioneer DEH-4500mp deck into my car which is a 1997 Ford Thunderbird LX back in 2009, never had an issue with it. Suddenly on Monday it started cutting out, i wasn't sure if maybe the unit went out given its old, and from 2003. i have plenty of lo end, but no mids or highs. it cuts out and i have no effin idea why but its driving me nuts, i connected it using the harness for it, and it was good i did this back in 2006 never had an issue with it till Monday, i pulled the unit checked the wiring no issues, nothings loose. When i make a sharp right or left turn sound comes back and plays normal as soon as i straighten out it cuts out again. i checked the harness yet again today, noticed the connections were dirty, i cleaned it off it seemed like the OEM harness connections were loose, i really rather not chop up that harness. is that the case? help me please?!

bassinblazer Posted April 21, 2011 Report Posted April 21, 2011 Ugh, I hate diagnosing HUs...I would probably go get a new one, seeing as it is that old and much nicer stuff is out now. MattMazurek Posted April 22, 2011 Author Report Posted April 22, 2011 might of figured it out, i was messing with the harness and it was working fine, i pushed the HU for a good 45mins with drum n bass, seems to be functioning just fine now, not sure why, maybe there was a reason for it not working just like theres usually a reason for everything and who know, if it starts acting up again i will someday replace the unit, if thats not the case just wait for my settlement and get a new car.
