darkfade Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 Car: 06 Mazda6 Sport Amp: Kicker IX 500.1 Subwoofers: 2x10" CompCVR 2005 Wattage: 130+w @ 4 ohms Question: I'm at a dilemma... Do i either get another 05 compvr 10" get a custom box and power them at 166w per sub @ 2 ohm Buy another kicker ix 500.1 and power each sub at 500w @ 2 ohm independent the goal im going for is SQL purely, however... i would like the option to go for spl with a simple bass control on the deck increased. I am running a stock deck. my wiring is the kicker 4awg kit so they a hitting 'hard' for 10" but would adding another 10" make any difference? Being that the two 10"s are currently running at 130+w @ 4ohms (the + is because the certificate rated @ 2ohm was 527w, i'm not sure if wiring them 4 ohms includes that increase). Im wondering why you running at a 4 ohm impedance? im guessing they are d4's and i have no idea about the RMS rating of those woofers my guess 300? If you had another woofer d4 it would come out to be like what 2.66 impedance or something LOL my adivce would be sell the amp and get an amp that is one ohm stable?
