teamace24 Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 (edited) Its definitely a prefab probably tuned in the 40s you see them in Cali a lot. If you listen to rock and other types of music go sealed 1.6 cubes each if you just want loud lows and be hear even farther go 2.7 each ported tuned to 36hz. Id go ported just build it right even get somebody to design it for you and itll be loud. Im surprised those can take that amp their only 250rms each right? Never mind you have 4 ohm subs wired to 2.6 ohms probably doing around 900 watts. Elrey7698 Posted April 26, 2011 Author Report Posted April 26, 2011 Play alot of corridos and ive tried a sealed box...me no like...i would really like to do a box like meades...i have the fourth sub but im kinda worried that if i take that amp to 2ohms On four subs they will sound bad...can someone design me a box...i can pay...ive never build a box but i have all the tools...also i have 4 sheets of 1" mdf that i got on a deal...35 bucks each Quote
blownengine Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 I would say use all 4 subs you have. Even though each will be getting less power you will increase your cone area. teamace24 Posted April 26, 2011 Report Posted April 26, 2011 Corridos sound best on sealed thats mostly what i listen to and i had both ported and sealed, maybe it comes down to subs kickers hit with corridos in sealed. Youll be fine with the 4th sub on 1300 rms since the subs can handle 1000 rms you just have to set the gain properly. Tune low since you listen to corridos like at or below 35hz and it will bang. Look for kranny, torres, ram designs, or james he designed a box for me like 2 years ago it banged. Elrey7698 Posted April 26, 2011 Author Report Posted April 26, 2011 So what if i add the fourth sub and do a total of 10cu ft with a shared chamber and a port tuned to 35hz...maybe subs facing up and port facing the back???...also my subs must be inverted cuz my daughter took a sharpie to the faces of all 3 Quote
teamace24 Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 If 10 cubes is net like taking in to account sub and port displacement, then if fosgate recommends 2.6 youll be at 2.5 so your good with that. Tune from 33-35hz as well. Send an email to fosgate they will answer within a day and tell them what they recommend for your car and what you listen to me before you do anything else that will help a lot more. I wouldnt want to damage the woofer though. Its fine to run them inverted. 10 cubes before port and bracing displacement should be good. blownengine Posted April 27, 2011 Report Posted April 27, 2011 Man screw that. You already have the wood. Boxes arnt that hard. Unless you REALLY arn't confident in your woodworking skills. But if you cfan cut a nearly straight line you are fine.
