Just pre-drill and you'll never have to worry about splitting the MDF. I've literally never split MDF when pre-drilling. And every 2" is way too close...just a waste of time and screws.

Yea I'm gunna predrill all my holes

I've got all the wood cut so I should be assembling it tonight but I'm not cutting the sub holes cause I don't have the sub yet

AC plywood.

Same strength as birch but made if pine. And $26 a sheet.

Also you only need a screw every 6 - 8 inches. To close can weaken the wood. Predrill your holes close to the edges. You can predrill the others if you want.

Yeaa 2 inches seems close

I'll prolly do like you said 6-8 inches and I'm using 2" screws
