DannyB Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 I am upgrading my door speakers from, front 6x9 Polk Audio db and rear Polk Audio 6.5 db to Polk Audio MM6501 component sets. The db series are 55wrms the MM series are 125wrms 2.7ohm (that will be powered by an MB quart 80.4) How many db will I gain in volume? In theory it sounds like you if you double the watts it will be twice as loud but that sounds too easy. Also is it important to keep your front components the same as the rear (matched) size, wattage, and brand?
