r33 Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 Hey, I'm having a problem with my 4 channel amp connected to my speakers. They have been running fine since they were installed around 4 years ago and now its starting to cut out after about 2 minutes of music. I have another monoblock amp connected and running another set of rca cables from the 4 channel to the sub also and the bass still plays but the speakers dont. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with the amp? Its just a cheap audioline amp but its done its job and lasted years, could be replaced for another one but its just the rewiring and disconecting that's stopping me from changing it before diagnosing the problem. Amps mounted next to the battery behind the sway bar or whatever its called in the boot.
Azagtoth502 Posted May 7, 2011 Report Posted May 7, 2011 Double check all the wiring...loose wire..bad ground....broken RCA's...etc.......is the amp getting hot before it cuts off? pa-pa-platypus sorry not everybody has a companies nuts so far down their throat they catch every drop ball sweat when it falls
r33 Posted May 7, 2011 Author Report Posted May 7, 2011 Ive checked all the wires, there all secure. Even changed the ground location. I just dont have a multimeter to check if the amp is still alive. It happened once a few weeks ago I would just have to turn the head unit off for about a minute. Then happened again yesterday but I wasnt as lucky, Now I get about 4 seconds of music when i turn the car on and then the 4 Channel cuts out and I only get bass from the sub.
