opinions .. sql and just playing good sound

SOoo.. idk im going crazy with options and ideas... need help badly to end insanity.

I have a basic system running hu/ and speakers that i did a while back.. (just got the hand down family car again 01 toyots rolla meister)

it has a old alpine deck cda-7863-- -pricey back then and quality. I would keep but its on its way out.

and some pioneer 2 way? models in the doors, 05 models..

and a 8" punch trunk side.

TIME TO UPGRADE..

Although I like the boom booms sometimes cuz I like rock, jazz,old school hiphop, freestyle bass music.. I am nor a boy racer nor trying to hit incredible low dbs..

I would just would like to replace my gear and go for something that doesnt distort when I amp the volume and pump out the good vibes. not just one note numbing rattle thumping as most jobs I hear out there.

I am into brands like re,fi, image dynamics,zapco,of course alpine,and diamond audio..

but I have other stuff that needs to be accomplished on the car first then down the line.. body work, engine mods and suspension. I have to budget some what and stay in the mid range line.

So I did alot of reaserching about sound quality and SPL and it seems that having a system that is loud and with tight bass hits that you can hear sound with bump and a system thats built for sound quality is two completely different things also double the price.

They say its more of a pick and choose thing vs getting something put together and actually sounding good to the buyer.. so i am on the fence should I just replace the headunit and start with some mb quarts or some alpine type s compontents(yes im going with components) and amp that .. worry about the subs later ..

or option go with a package and get it all done in one shot and see what works.

I am not a noob in the car audio buisness..I know about crappy audio and good sounding stuff and I know not to rush things and have it sound like ass.. I also know that some brands when done right can actually come out good. Soo...

I would like just an unbiased opnion on how do I purchase a good sounding system .. sounding loud and clear with bass.. without burning holes in my khaki pants lol.

So from what I read, you don't want a complete SQ system because of the flat response, but you don't want a one note wonder. I'm guessing you want a clean and loud system?

I think you should look around and see what underground brands on here and CACO have. Theyll be cheaper, but you won't sacrifice quality.

clean and loud.. yes for lack of a better word thats what i am trying for..

although there are many brands to choose from.. from just in the subs dept i like what dc audio has to offer..

they look great built and the customer service is top notch. I just dont wanna go to far as thinking my options are

from companies that are mostly spl. I don't know where to start really . I do have a general idea... and somewhat

of a foundation. just alot of things to consider. If i could get a 10step guide i would follow it too a T becuase

Start with a good head unit if that alpine is goin out time for another one get a good four channel you can get a set of components but you might want to consider ditching the crossover and running active that would be a good start alot of the alpine decks have great crossovers so you can dial in the mids and highs or think about a sound processor like the bit one or audio control
