There are plenty of cars in California with manual transmissions but, the number of people that are capable or willing to drive a car with a manual transmission is lacking. Also, automatic transmissions are just as efficient, if not better, at shifting compared to manual transmissions these days. If anything, semi-auto is more fun to drive than fingershifts.
