DLS RA-40 reference series

Any1 here use a DLS RA-40 reference series amplifier? I just wanna know if its worth to buy... How it sound n quality?

I used to have a ra-20.

Nice amp

I ask this because im about to buy my frens DLS n when i test it, with 3/4 volume, the gain on the amplifier gain is nearly full. N im affraid this can cause distortion in the front sound stage. This DLS is rarely use since he bought it....
