Baydestrian Posted May 24, 2011 Report Share Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) Yeah it shouldn't be different, the gain on the amp matches the head unit preamp voltage....what head unit do you have? I'm guessing you don't have a DMM. If I'm correct go here http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/96978-test-tones-and-sine-waves/ and get the first download and burn that 45hz @ 0db tone to a cd, then do these steps: 1. Turn gain all the way down 2. Turn the deck to 3/4 of the way up, use google to figure out about what number that should be 3. Play the track and turn the gain up slowly until you start to hear distortion, back it down just a bit and you are golden. Like stated above, make sure Bass Boost on the amp is all the way off as well as Loudness (or the equivalent) on your head unit settings before doing the above. Don't mess with the bass level on the deck either, leave it at 0. Sub level I mess with but that's dependent on you, I never go past +3.
