what actuator did you use? I couldn't believe some of the prices....$100 for one inch! crazy chit.........

.....learning alot from meade and his circle of some of the baddest installers ive seen- thanks guys, for not being so cocky and posting the way it should be done!

I made a sleeve using 1/4" aluminum pipe and all thread. Might have been 1/8". I'll find the pics when I get home.

Used 2 lock nuts on each end to make jam nuts and to set it at the desired tightness.

Does that make sense to ya?

I didn't have any pics of what I used exactly, but here is a run down.

First I made some mounting brackets out of aluminum angle. I used aluminum for convenience.

Easy to trim and drill.

I used some steel tubing cut just shy of the the width of the iPad mount.

You secure this to the mount itself solidly. Make sure it is straight.

I then used some all thread rod that was long enough to go thru that tube plus the mounting brackets and have enough thread to used nuts to secure it but allow it to rotate.

Between the tubing and the mount are small washers to leave just enough room for the mount to rotate.

There are a couple different ways to do it and I would try a different one next time just to see if it would work as good. But that's a basis so you can build off of it.

Thanks a lot I really appreciate the info ...I was breaking my head lol , I did an iPad install but I have to slide it in and out from the top , like a slot , I would like to change it up to what you did ... You do awesome work , thanks for the info
