Oh one more thing...

It looks like you just folded down the back seat...

If you get rid of the backseat and build a platform (plywood or whatever else) that reaches much closer to the front seats...

If you box it up it will remove possibly 100-150liters of volume... just with the platform alone.

Then you'll be able to move the boxes even future forward..... reducing cabin space by possibly a total of 300-400 liters.

thanks for the info, however i really cant afford that much.

now it is pretty sealed up, i found out that volvo has atleast 2 tunnels near the roof that go straight to back, so i had to seal em up with urethane.

also found out that my upper box is not working propely.

if i remove the upper port it gives atlease .5dB on higher notes (56Hz)

so i need to consider removing the whole upper wall to get higher notes louder.

sofar best has been 144,9dB @35Hz. with 1500D monoblock and 18".

i'm not happy at all, last time i had 147.98dB with same system but diffirent enclosure.

on saturday i go to competete with this so wish me luck.. pictures from there and videos me playing MB will be posted.

thanks for all of your info.

if you can sketch the idea of the wall you talked about into a 245 volvo would be awesome. i got few ideas of my own, this wall ain't working for the best for me so it will be torn off asap i can afford the materials for the new one. i got 3 types of walls that im thinking.

1. smd like 6th order with center port, subs facing each others

2. kingofpsychlone type of a box but only with 8 subs

3. clamshell with 8 subs.

subs will be max 10" as i get too much cone area so i cant really competete against each others. at my 1500w league my max subs are: 1x18" or 2x 15" or 3x12" or 4x10" or 6x 8"

my first competition is tomorrow...

got alot to do today, i sealed up yesterday few more found holes and today ill try to seal as much as i can that space under the folded seat. to cut down the internal cabin volume. got a fat guy with me at competitions so i get even smaller cabin space!

yay !

also i got only single battery at back, volts drop down to 10,85V on battery @full tilt @35Hz (we cant have car running when we competete)

i hooked a 55Ah Optima YT with my battery so at competition i will "race" with 2 batteries.

gotta get more batteries this summer... i'm thinking Exide 92Ah batteries, 2-4 if possible.

lol, i gotta strip this granny out and foam it airtight!

i've made my desicion, 18" has to go. going to replace it with 4x 10" and replace that FX1500D to 2x 1500.1 autostudio amplifiers. autostudio ones aren't as good as FX, but with 2 of em i can have almost same power both at 1ohm that FX has on 0,5 ohm. im planning also getting optima YT on both amplifiers so i should not have any low voltage problems anymore.

however at competition day:

i WON! :jump:

142.9dB is 1.3dB less than last year so this enclosure will be dump'd.

got all my gear for sale hopefully gettin em sold or changed into equipment i need to get next enclosure up asap.

it will be a wall ofc, but with a dual chamber ported enclosure one tuned to high one to low, middle port, subs on both sides.

i hope i can do it propely this time (will remove the backseat and build to the frame)

gotta rip that floormat off and seal from sides and the floor also.

going to rip off that enclosure ain't working as it should be.

selling all gear and getting new ones.

i closed the upper chamber and took some wid with 4th order:

that's with one 18" and one 1500D monoblock!

peak was 143.88dB @ 27Hz

Congratulation on your victory!

How many liters are your ported and sealed compartments in those boxes?

170l sealed 330l ported, tuned to 33Hz with 10" port. (18cm long)

Where did you get those numbers?

dBs? i got a dB meter that gives voltages that i can read from my DMM. it's not termlab but it is tested with TL and it is pretty damn accurate.

building of the wall v.2 HAS BEGUN!

sofar i got these done. already sold all my bass equipment, getting new stuff on next month when they arrives from the country from the importer.

i hope this setup will be bangin!

it is aprox 750litres big, but i'm making it dual chamber, so it will propably be morelike 200-300litres per chamber.

onside with 1x 15" tuned higher, one side with 3x 10" tuned lower.

i wonder if this thread gets more interested in if i pop 150+ on windshield with that 1500D amp...

it has been morelike a monolog sofar.

stock alt, 60A.

because nobody in Finland imports high output alternators, i've been asking for WEEKS for distributer or importer, but no.

would cost roughly 1000€ to get one highoutput alternator from US.

other change is to get alot of stock alts, but i'd rather update my old to a 100-150A minimum.

I got an 340A Iraggi alt for around 350 euros to Norway. So can´t see why it would cost 1000 euros to Finland.
