TRTC360 Posted June 25, 2011 Report Posted June 25, 2011 Ok well here I go, I have a kenwood eXcelon KDC-X395 head unit hooked up to a precision power 7 band equalizer then to a hifonics 4 channel amplifier for my highs, when I turn the car on and run the head unit CD through the CD setting on the EQ which allows me to listen to the radio or any other settings on the head unit, I turn the EQ up to half way and have a veryyyyy loud alternator wine, with the car off it goes away, now if I run the aux setting on the EQ which is I use the ipod through RCA jacks hooked up to the EQ itself the alternator wine goes away with the car on or off. Does that mean I need to ground my rcas from my HU to my EQ? ground the head unit itself? This sound is driving me crazy and i'm not sure exactly what is causing it. please help me out, if you need me to clear things up a bit more let me know.
