That depends on how high you run the voltage and when the charge light is set to illuminate. On our vehicles we are not experiencing that problem, but it could happen. It all depends on the sensitivity of that circuit. Charging at 16.5 in my experience will not cause any warning lights or other issues like that, most MFG's have enough cushion built it, they only want the light to go on when the charging is too low or WAY too high.
