Reilly Posted July 6, 2011 Report Share Posted July 6, 2011 I would be careful. There are 508's that come in the pre-fab box, 1008's, and 1508's. They are all different level speakers. The 508 in a prefab is a great bang for the buck combo, surprised a lot of people in the back of a hatchback, but the 1508 is louder and more tight sounding. The pre-fab port is too small for the 1508, and has a ton of port noise and back pressure. If you do any 1500 level speaker, do a custom box. adam6604 Posted July 7, 2011 Author Report Share Posted July 7, 2011 oh yeah? i ended up buying a 1512 in the DD ported enclosure, ill be keeping it in the DD box untill it is broken in, so then i can really let it go, i'll be building a box for burps soon after its broken in.
