So I take it ether the box is like 3.5 cubes? That should be good, I put my w3v3 in in my friends 06 taurus, worked for him in about 3.7 before sub displacement. But personally I'd go a little more port area if possible like 13" per cube, especially if firing into your cabin, I personally found port noise more noticeable, in my car anyways. I know jl is very picky on boxes. But it may work good in your car, different acoustical properties.

So how would I achieve more port area without sacrificing tuning? Like your saying I should go bigger then 3'' because of port noise right? Like when I put port dimensions in calculators an it spits out of frequency should I watch for anything that's going to make it sound fucked up etc.. Or will the calculators give accurate port dimensions for me to go ahead and build

Ok your port now is probably good, i only said a bit bigger as that's what I did. My friend works for a local audio shop and a box builder and he mainly works with jl, and he helped design mine. Port area helps to move more air, and cuts down port noise. You can have 100 inches of port or 10 and still be tuned the same, depth is what tunes your enclosure. So if you add a little more port area, you'd have to make the port deeper, port wall longer. I can get ahold of my friend and ask him volume, tuning and port area he'd recommend.

Fuck man if you did that that would be great. If you do just tell him 2 jl w3v3s there 4 ohm. I can go as big as 15 height 36 width and 19 depth. Forward facing tuned between 32-35. But either way he's the expert so if he wants something completely different I'm definitely listening haha

As long as you have the 3.5 internal after subs displacement he said

your fine. 32-36 hz tuning is good, doesn't need to be exact, you won't really notice 1 hz off, just a general range. And 13-14 inches port per cube he said is good. Dimension is based on what you can fit in your car. He told me my box was 4.0 ft before subs, 56 inches of port giving 14 per cube tuned to 30 hz. But the lower the better, I like lows lol. And my box was a single port to one side, not a center port. Not sure if that'd make a difference or just preference. I usually make/use single side ports because of the ease and less pieces.
