More than likely its a standard 3.5mm aux cable wired into em.

Which would just plug directly into the mac's audio port ( left side front circle ) on a MacBook Pro

Unless you use your laptop at a desk though...They can get annoying. I tried it for a bit. But laying in bed at night with those speakers takes the "Lap" out of laptop. Hehe.

What you could also do, not sure if you have a surround system in your bedroom, living room, or wherevr your main place of use is, but you could always get a say 20-30ft 3.5mm Stereo Aux cable and hook up to the surround sound. Hell you could get a 50ft and go just bout anywhere. But a good 20ft cable would be great for the typically bedroom. Thats what I do. They can be found extremely cheap. Basically for the price of the raw metal you buy usually its about 10-20$ for a 20ft. 3.5mm Hit up ebay! Prolly could find em cheaper.

Only thing I got is a long ass cable hooked up to the mac.

Cheers.

EDIT: Reading the comments on em - I assume that I was correct assuming a 3.5mm plug.

Well, you gotta understand Gender (; Hehe.. Jus keedding bro. That one is M/F so if you notice its got one "Female" part. ( love the way cables are made )

Youd be better off getting something that is not coiled and Male to Male.

I would give you one for the price of shipping but I sadly dont have anymore. :/

But I do have Quantity: 425 1' Male to Male 3.5mm stereo audio cables! ( I should try to sell em in lots on here. I sell em locally to people who wanna use thier ipod in thier car.) :Word:

( I sell stuff computer related items on ebay and just happen to have some of these in my inventory.)

1ft prolly wouldnt do u much .

Something like this http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=240-102

Which has 2 male ends - that ones 50ft..which is probably overkill But it is 3:30am and im beat LOL. im sure you can find one. Check out newegg.com they might be a little more pricey.

Hell they might even have a 20-25ft on that site and i look over it. As stated 3:30am. Hehe. Oh yeah gotta be up in 4 hours..SHIT.

But I am tired, so ill end ths haha. Good luck man.

EDIT:EDIT: Ignore the other links - $4

they're passive, they need an amplifier.

some sound cards used to have a small amplifier built in that would run these (2x5watts or so)

your laptop does not, so no, you really can't use them without an external amplifier.

=[. would like the small dayton T-amp work? how would i hook that up to my laptop?
