AQ HDC3 help

Okay, Well Oren smoked one of his hdc3 15's. When we first hooked it up the first song with the gain barely up and no excursion at all it had this horrible smell to it. It wasn't a coil smell. It was something so distinct, I've never smelled anything like it. It was for sure sent like this. Everything was hooked up correctly but the amp was getting so hot for literally no play time. The amp has been used for 2 years with absolutely no problems, it's a sundown 2k on hdc3 12's which was his old setup. Smoke came out of the box like it was a blown coil but like I said, it doesn't smell like coil at all. If anyone has any idea's please ask, and if there is anything we can do to provide more details please ask. This setup was put in last night.

does this mean aq sends a SVC sub

How was sub wired? could have shorted coik out, was it aluminum or copper coil, aluminun coils have a very distincd smell IMO

did you verify ohm load at the amp before turning it on? Sounds like it was wired up wrong/shorted out somewhere.

If you're sure it wasn't user error contact AQ about warranty procedure.
