Haha thread jacking yourself hey haha, 2 15" re sx subs on a hifonics BRZ 2400.1d 2 ohms with a 13cube box with 4 cubes of port LOL design fail

o ok sick!! how do you like your brutus?

haha yes fail if you mean it displaced 4 cubes lol you need to calculate out how the port and sub displacement. so you would be sitting at 8.5 9 cubes after all the displacements which should be pretty good if i remember the specs on those correctly. but the longer the port the less efficient it gets and to displace 4 cubes it had to be decently long lol

how i normally do it is try to keep my ports under 20" and i know it wont work out to 15 cubic inches per foot or 17 like some people like but my box is 13.3 after displacements and have 161 cubic inches of port so its not close to that 15 cubic inches but i havent heard it make that ugly sound boxes with small ports sometimes make..

anyway sorry for the story tell long reply but those are my thought lol

the brutus is awesome just not .5 ohm capable so im underpowering my subs right now unfortunetly, lol

yeah well my box was designed by someone else for free, i was excited just to get them going haha, but its got like 200+ inches of port area for TWO 15's lol so its like 4 cubes of port and 8 cubes of airspace,, so when they play under 35hz one subs moving like crazy and the other isnt lol i got a new design going now tho gotta pick up wood this weekend

Driving my 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 MEGA cab with the 5.7 hemi.

Audio: Two 10" Alpine Type R's ( 1000rms models )

Hifonics BRZ 2400.1D @ .5 ohm

Two Kinetic 1400 batteries ( soon to have XS power under hood )

Tsunami 1/0 Awg wire throughout truck.

Stock Infinity 7 speaker system ( Junk ) soon to be replaced, probably all Alpine.

Exterior: 17"Dick cepek rims with 33" Toyo MT tires

Bushwacker fender flares

Magnaflow true duel exhaust

LED tail lights with Projector headlights

Plasti-dip fun coming soon!

@ Adam that is crazy ass port area for 4 net cubes dude lol i am jealous!! i could only go so big and have the subs and port up as you can see from the pics everything pretty much butts up against each other. after doing some testing with my old box i found that port up would be the loudest config in my truck and i wanted the subs up to so i ran into issue fitting it all under the window line and being able to fit my big ass in there comfortably.

thats crazy that only one sub moves a lot...ive never ran into that problem before but i would be willing to bet that that big ass port makes one chamber harder to breath or something making the one sub have more room and one with less but dont quote me without letting me see it lol im no pro box designer but i have built probably 50 boxes from scratch all for custom applications and i would be more than happy to help

Resting voltage is a little low, time to throw it on the charger. Love how the ipad just pushes right out. You can take it with you if you ever needed or atleast throw it in the glovebox at night so noone gets the urge to butterfinger. :good:

fuck thats a good idea lol imma have a friend through them on the charger right meow (cause im not there) i think i had just talked myself into upgrading them so i didnt even worry about it but you are very right it is low and i do need to do something about it

i do take the ipad inside with me every night before i wrap things up because if someone does somehow get in there without my alarm beeping at me then me hitting that person upside the head, with a bat i keep handy, that person will b in heaven in there lol theres so much money in there its dumb and id cry like an obese baby.
