GMC Sierra 2500HD: 4 15" DC XLs 12k IPAD VIDEO POSTED

Recommended Posts

Ok so here is the center console thingy in the truck..

27ConsoleBoxIn.jpg

I am now moving onto making a piece of wood with a window like piece of plexiglass to go from the back of the box to right below the back window so the sound from the port wont drop right out of the port into that about 8" space where the amps and batts sit.

I plan on having a piece of acrylic (that i will frost with my mini sand blaster) in the middle the same size as the port (7" x 23") that says "Sky High Car Audio" across the top then "Powered by DC Sound Lab" below that. I am getting a sticker made that has the sticky on the reverse side than normal (so when you touch the acrylic it will be smooth still) then it will only allow light to come through the words which will be frosted so that you cant see though it.

I figure this is the cleanest way possible to do it and cover up all the stuff back there while hopefully adding something to the numbers (even if it doesnt it will look really cool lol)

Nice build. I love seeing people take their crew cabs and make them into 2 seaters. Everyone always say's it's a waste, but I say it's the best of the both worlds. It's near impossible to have a 4 seating TRUCK and still be able to use the bed to haul things like four wheelers.

I love the uniformity of the build. And the speed of the build haha.

Thats a big ol engine lol, nice looking work so far man. And btw how dare you drink diet mt dew? that should become the 8th deadly sin lol. I like it though it looks real nice.

the engine is enormous the headers come within about an inch of the frame lol im actually surprised i could find a dual alt kit for it.

And yes i know i was waiting for someone to call me out on the diet stuff lol i am sorry to offend you haha

Lol i was just kidding, i just dont like the taste but for health's sake I should switch. Have you dyno'd that truck? if so how many ponies does that big guy have? That sea sponge pattern is cool too.

Well before this build started it had a flip center console so it could seat 6 lol now im down to 2 which is fine with me because in washoe country its legal to have people ride in your bed as long as they are over 18 lol so i have my priorities straight lol

I do a lot of heavy hauling, pulling etc so doing a blow through was just not an option because half the time my bed if full of rocks wood concrete etc lol

Ive never dynod it..im not that into the performance shit because im so side tracked on the system and interior. I know for weighting i believe 6600 dry it moves well

It pulls my 37 toy box all with my buggy in it all day with 100 gallons of gas and 250 gallons of water in the trailer so its probably far above 15k pounds with all that BS in it (thats the real reason i got this truck)

well when i started designing this i really wanted 6 XL 15s but couldnt make them fit so i had to settle for 4 :(

i think the port up should be the loudest in your truck (and any truck) because i had messed with a single sub set up in my truck and built like 5 boxes for it and port facing up was like a db louder on the meter so it was huge.

what are the specs you need for those subs? air space wise?
