Grelko
Full size van "slightly larger than the savannah passanger van" looking for ideas, been reading up on SPL going with 12x 12s "1500rms, 2500-3000w" able to play fave music and still run at around 150Db+, 1-2-4 ohm? 20-70Hz budget is around $3.5k for entire setup, batteries, wire etc. everything, any suggestions? or not possible? 2x half-walls foldout into 1 fullwall total air space in front of wall is around "200 cubic ft 6x5x8" and the boxes would take up around (40" high, 60" wide, 10-20in deep) looking for MASSIVE airflow for tricks "with sliding door open" at shows, car cruises etc. Edited July 15, 2011 by Grelko Quote Optimus XL-400w amp 2x 10s IMPP 400w 2x something or other in dash 2x 35w radioshack 8" full-range AcDelco factory radio "frankenstein'd from my dead buick" Dodge seats 1984 Chevy G30 full size 1-ton van "Rust Monster" Progress - around 15% primer/patching Sold the van in 2014, had it about 75% done, never did get the system in it. Bought a 2000 Chevy S10, still using the same amp/subs. Headunit is XO Vision X538. It's 52x4w, has a dvd player, auto flip out 7" touch screen plus alot more and is a single din. Grelko
just to make sure noone is confused, each sub enclosure would be right around 39in high, 29 wide,"absolute maximum just double checked the space" 10-20in deep, could actually go up to 26 deep since they swing-out 1 halfwall at a time with grills added. Grelko
i'll have them on hinges so they swing out like doors, meet in the middle "fit tightly together, locked in place etc" to make 1 huge wall that i can split back into 2 pieces and have them on the back walls while driving. hoping to get some pics up soon as i finish covering the walls/ceiling with xtra support for all the speaker weight, youd see what i meant for sure then Edited July 15, 2011 by Grelko Quote Optimus XL-400w amp 2x 10s IMPP 400w 2x something or other in dash 2x 35w radioshack 8" full-range AcDelco factory radio "frankenstein'd from my dead buick" Dodge seats 1984 Chevy G30 full size 1-ton van "Rust Monster" Progress - around 15% primer/patching Sold the van in 2014, had it about 75% done, never did get the system in it. fecupe2001
I didn´t understand almost anything on your last post, but anyways, a 155 dbs @ 30´s with 3500$ seems hard as hell if you wask me because it has to include amplifiers, batts and everything. I would set a lower goal and everything past that goal is a bonus, said that, a 150 dbs it´s way easier to hit. I would go with something stupid cheap that still can pound the lows, i know american bass has some subs that you can affort and get a massive amount of cone area ONLY IF YOU CAN FIT A PROPER BOX FOR THEM, a couple of AQ or crescendo amplifiers, HO alternator and a few batts, i´ve used SVR batts before and for the price they aren´t bad at all, jus throwing ideas out there, but i honestly think it´s difficult since you are gonna spend a lot of money on wood and wires, head unit and even on mids/highs and amps for those, or you think your demos are gonna be fun just playing subs without hearing any voices? lol Quote I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains.
