TarponPride09
Going to HD today to pick up some 3/4 in mdf for my box (BL 15s) and 1/4 in for a trim panel. The question is what pieces do i need to make meade style terminals, and can i use 8 awg wire as speaker wire to the subs because i've seen it done before. Chris
You need some brass bolts (least resistance & softer metal), Lock washers, washers & nuts. Yes you can use 8 awg as speaker wire, that's what Meade uses for each 5000watt amp. 4 15" FI Q D2's in 12 cubes tuned to 32hz 1- T1000.1bd's 3 Maxx 29 deep cycles 4 runs of 1/0 gauge -Big 3 -Trunk sealed off from the cabin Custom 15.8 dual-volt switching MLA module All in a CAR. Chris
Yeah that sounds about right except throw a lock washer in there some place, & try to have all the peices gold plated or brass. Softer metals make for better contact when tightened up. If you just use regular bolts & such, it's not too big of a deal though. 4 15" FI Q D2's in 12 cubes tuned to 32hz 1- T1000.1bd's 3 Maxx 29 deep cycles 4 runs of 1/0 gauge -Big 3 -Trunk sealed off from the cabin Custom 15.8 dual-volt switching MLA module All in a CAR. Chris
I'd put a lock washer on the inside of the box, & I'd say 1/2" would be plenty big enough bro. 4 15" FI Q D2's in 12 cubes tuned to 32hz 1- T1000.1bd's 3 Maxx 29 deep cycles 4 runs of 1/0 gauge -Big 3 -Trunk sealed off from the cabin Custom 15.8 dual-volt switching MLA module All in a CAR. ChevyBoy
i used a lot more washers and nuts, but i just used a regular grade 5 3/8" bolt i believe. if not 3/8, then 5/16.
