JustinWillmon Posted July 18, 2011 Report Posted July 18, 2011 Hey guys, it seems lately i have more and more friends coming to me asking for help with there stereo. My friend has a 2007 dodge ram 1500 and bought a pre-fab box for a single 10 on the passenger side. I tried talking him into at least building a small box for it but he paid the 60 dollars and has it. He just wants decent bass out of it nothing to crazy, the box has .5 cu ft of air space with a 6" mounting depth. He knows its not gonna be ear shattering since i told him it was such a small box, but i was thinking maybe a rockford fosgate p3 shallow mount would work? I guess i will probably add a little polyfill if i need to, but does anyone have any better suggestions then the p3 shallow mount? I know i could get a sundown sa-10 or something like that i just dont think that is enough air space.
zx10intn Posted July 18, 2011 Report Posted July 18, 2011 what amp is he planning on using? those p3 shallows are pretty good for what they are imo 1969 Chevy Chevelle 20/22" staggered Bonspeed Huntingtons wrapped in Nitto INVO's Mechman 250amp cs144 alt w/AVBM Kinetik 1800 main battery/Kinetik 2400 in the trunk Pioneer AVH-3200dvd Headunit (2) sets of Hybrid Audio Technologies Imagine components up front (2) DD 3512's d4 coils Sundown sax100.4 component amp Sundown saz-3000d subwoofer amp 5ft^3 box tuned to 34hz MY BUILD
JustinWillmon Posted July 18, 2011 Author Report Posted July 18, 2011 Im not sure on what amp either yet, that is still up in discussion. The reason i told him the p3 shallows might not be a bad idea is i helped a friend install two of them off a kicker 750.1 and for what it was it got pretty damn loud. I wasnt expecting that much out of a shallow mount and it sounded pretty good. If we went with the p3 shallow i was thinking something that puts out about 400-500 watts would be about right
HazeGrey75 Posted July 18, 2011 Report Posted July 18, 2011 The new Alpine Type R Shallows are decent
JustinWillmon Posted July 18, 2011 Author Report Posted July 18, 2011 I was thinking maybe the rf p-400 or 500.1 for the amp. I like those alpine type r's but there a bit pricey arent they like 260 dollars or something? (Im guessing, but i thought i remembered seeing them at that price)
