quick fuse question on distrib block

Recommended Posts

If i have a smaller size fuse in my distribution block than the amount of total amps of fuses that are built in to the amp will the amp get hot becuase my fuse in the distrib block is only letting so many amps through(if that makes any sense lol).. my amp has 4 25amp fuses in it and my distrib block only has a 60 amp fuse.. just installed it and the amp gets hot with plenty air space.. thanks please help me..

How many channels is the amp, and how many speakers do you have hooked to it?

What kind of amp is it? What kind of fuse is in the distribution block(ANL, AGU, MIDI)?

Boston acoustic gt-42 and the amps fuses are normal car fuses.. the distrib block has agu fuses

That's weird, I could see it maybe getting hot with a 2 ohm load, but not with 4 ohms. Maybe it's just the amps charateristic to run warm. And it's only running 100W RMS, you shouldn't need a monster fuse in the block for it.

also the amp takes 2 pwr wires and 2 gnd wires so should i split the total num in half.. like put a 50 amp fuse on each pwr wire to total the 100 amps the amp has built in or does each pwr wire goin to the amp need a 100 amp fuse on it
